My bold.
We were discussing this in lowly old D lobby yesterday in stint 2, after hearing about some of the huge collisions in A and B lobbies, then reading about the number of accidents and incidents drivers have been involved in got me thinking.
Yesterday, I had bumper to bumper racing with another car over my stints for over 2 hours in total, involving pass after pass, on straights, in corners, on the brakes, different lines through corners, all the time while being passed by P1 cars, and lapping slower GTE cars.
Not once did we connect with each other, or the cars around us (although there was one very near miss!)
Why is it that the best drivers in the game, have such big incidents, yet the 'slowest' dont? (so much) figure that out, and you'll solve half the problems
Slower drivers tend to be less serious. Top drivers will stubbornly not give up a position to the point of recklessness. That only applies to some & can happen the other way round.

Very proud of all the guys in VAMR. 004 had some bad luck and deserved better. The guys did brilliantly to keep their heads up and soldieron despite damage and questionable driving from others on occasion.
To be a part of the 007 line up was great and we have just got our heads down and dug deep for our result. They team deserves it after being robbed at Le Mans last year. Granted some bad luck for others has played its part but hey, that's endurance racing. It takes a certain typeof driver to uunderstand this and by the sounds of it our car was one of the only ones in the field to suffer no contact, technical issues or controversy at all.
Well done boys I know the real team is proud of our efforts too.

Cheers Matt, I can honestly say that we in the 004 car put everything we had into that race. Unfortunately things didn't go to plan but hey, that's racing. Congratulations to you guys in the 007, was a great effort.
Did any of the real team happen to watch any of the live-stream? Would be awesome if they did.

Agree. Everyone did a great job and worked really hard. The 007 had a great race, whereas the 004 didn't have much go our way! Oh well, that's racing. Onto the next one!
Re: TORA 12 Hours of Sebring - General Discussion
Not sure but I know we had support from Toyota oddly! And The Advantage was certainly following the progress too. The one and only John Gaw also started following VAMR during the event. So that's pretty cool too.
Re: TORA 12 Hours of Sebring - General Discussion
Christian, that's the EXACTLY right attitude to have. Wish more competitors had such a mentality...

TG Wormburner wrote:Why don't you PM CQR why you don't like them? I don't give a damn and it has nothing to do with your statement where you have firmly planted your foot in your own mouth and are currently chewing the hell out of it.
Didn't like them and don't like them is quite different.. Think you need to calm down a little, especially when any comments that have been made don't in any way apply to yourself, or your team in anyway.
The problem with the written word is that it can be taken however you read it. Sometimes people need to remember that this is a multicultural site with people from countries all over the world, some of which English is not their first language, so I think they can forgiven if something is posted in a way that can be misinterpreted. I feel like adder has acknowledged what you have said and reworded what he was implying I.e. thought he was too aggressive the first time lapping the GT field.
As a TORA steward, you ought to not be getting involved in slanging matches on the forum.. I don't see other stewards acting in this way, again as this does not affect yourself, or your team in any way.
I personally only saw magic tap after damage incurred on the stream I have even posted saying he did a hell of a job driving that car around. I also respect CQR as I personally feel they are one of if not the best team here and have always been very helpful/supportive when I was a driver with no team and asked for their help. And it would be a shame for things to sour over misunderstandings.. Especially when adder is saying he used to not like CQR. Not that he doesn't like CQR.

Great that John followed VAMR. Can tweet my picture of his car spitting a flame now!
Re: TORA 12 Hours of Sebring - General Discussion
Once again lagging and BS plagues my team Our GT team was running smoothly but DJ had connection issues and lagged out in both of his stints :/ if It werent for that we would have forsure been fighting for the top spots and were usually in 2nd place with good room ahead of us in C Lobby. I had to run 4 stints and 3 back to back to back and it was brutal! Then one of our prototype teams was on route to maybe winning the race, but Dub Soljah lagged out in the last stint :/ Hopefully we get better luck at Le Mans! Nevertheless I had amazing racing in all my stints! Nothing beats Stint 4 the three car train between myself, MGR Ginge, and XPR Overdrive constantly changing positions for 2 hours! great racing

Re: TORA 12 Hours of Sebring - General Discussion
Just because I'm a steward doesn't mean I don't have an opinion to share.
Because I am a steward and someones racing behavior was wrongly accused I felt my opinion was even more warranted.
Team doesn't matter, neither does friendship. If you or Adder was being wrongly accused my argument would be the same for you.
I didn't slag your teammate off. I simply stated the obvious point that he was claiming someone was being reckless when the fact is that he wasn't and never hit anyone.
I feel it warrants saying that you cannot pass someone in an LMP car with wet feet. Once you make a decision to go you then go. I can assure you Magictap had complete control of his car and knew the other was holding it's line so he made a pass. That is what you are supposed to do, not a should I or shouldn't I situation. Once you hesitate that is when something bad generally happens. The fact of this is that you aren't Magictap and you do not know how much car control he had. He obviously proved that he knew exactly what he was doing by racing for two hours and never hitting a soul. He proved even more of his ability to control a car by doing what he did in such a terrible car for so long.

yes mandown is right, we were bumper to bumper for 2 hours and we didnt hit, but i know the 1 miss your on about... i think its me at T17.
honestly im suprised a ' lower ' lobby car didnt win becuase of all the incidents, its stupid people need to calm down and stop picking fights with each other on forums, if you want to fight do it in pm!

XPR Roadrunner wrote:I would like to again thank the TORAlive crew for letting me the booth with them for this race, it was the best part of day, as after that stint 4, my stomach started turning again from flu, and I couldn't race in the last stint. BloodYCain took over for me, although it looks like he lagged out midway. I had to go to bed at 30mins before the race ended, and I just woke up 2hrs ago.
Again thanks to my teammates for carrying us thru everything that happened; flu, drag tires, lag spikes, lag outs. It wasn't the day we wanted, but at least we had fun doing it (most important).
All in all, not the day we wanted at XPR either, for all the reasons mentioned above. We had last minute family emergencies and health problems hinder our efforts, but we extend our thoughts and prayers to XPR Tactical, and FMS Topsecret as they are both dealing with family illness and the like.
A special recognition does out to our Formula Forza mates over at HR Aces Wild and Formulaforza.com team. HR Aces Wild had it in the bag, had it not been for a late stint lagout, and the formulaforza.com team did an amazing job keeping their car on the road for the full 12hrs, despite having health issues from Jameshall ( ).
Onwards to Le Mans!

Re: TORA 12 Hours of Sebring - General Discussion
Hmm.. You did read my bottom paragraph didn't you? I agree with you regarding magictap, I even commented him as such publicly on the forum last night watching him drive the car with the damage he had.
I don't think CQR hand memberships out lightly, so I think we can assume his control/driving skill/speed to be of a high standard (I am new to this, so you will have to forgive me, I struggled to know the difference between magic and magictap at first lol). So you won't hear me saying anything on that.
I am not trying to cause argument, I am just saying adder said something but then has posted again trying to clarify it. I think he has been misunderstood is all.
Fair one on the steward thing, just felt you were a little hot under the collar about it considering. But fine I accept that your response and agree with your point on this.
Hope that you understand I am not being awkward, I just felt he was being misunderstood.

+1
This result is far better than I imagined. And what a way to make a one off appearance!
I am so proud of the whole team and we fully deserve this result. We ran out of trouble and we reaped the results of our hard work. Cannot wait for Le Mans.
Many commiserations to D4NI3L, Shifty, Chad & Chris in the other Virtual AMR entry. I wished the event went a lot smoother for you guys. But at least that you guys can be reassured that you have the talent & speed to be really competitive. And also, the incidents you were involved in wasn't your fault either.

And yet u know exactly that your teammate was not to be blamed. Lol , i betcha none of us can watch the replay, mine is stuck after half an hour.
Like F4H KoenigsEgg said there are a zillion lines going in the final turn.
And yeah, off course the overtaking car needs to take care.. But the funny thing is the both of u blame me for not overtaking properly, how bout i blame midget and his almost fully aero damaged car for not moving outta the way a bit more at all if u know youre going to be lapped? Especially if "controlling" it could be a whole harder if u got that much damage?
Anyway we'll never know until a proper working replay pops up.
Maybe Bli33ard or XPR Maddog can send or post the replay on their storefront so we can clear this up.
Until that time i will not comment on this matter,
Edit
TG Wormburner wrote:Magictap is the most experienced multiclass P1 driver around. Debating
Now you jump down CQR's throat when a teammate of your own killed a car that was completely off the racing line and tried to blame them for some unknown reason. Get over it and move on. I watched nearly all of the 12 hour from stint 3 on, something you obviously didn't do with your claims above.
Did you see the replay of Lobby B of the last stint?
If yes then put it up on your storefront so we can all have a look.
If no i suggest not to make assumptions on a matter in which u werent there in the first place.
Getting quite annoyed of everyone opinion as if they were there when it happened.

Yes ave to agree Scuderia, that was the standout moment of the race for me, it just went from attacking to defending, overtaking then being overtook lap after lap for the entire stint. Whilst it was huge fun, I don't think it helped with the "endurance" element of the event, it was more like a 2 hr "sprint" race...........
Favourite quote of the event - Standaman94 whilst lapping us again "ohh no not you 3 again, you're still at it"..............
