"This will be a championship fought by each driver for themselves. The total amount of points at the end of the series, minus the lowest scoring round from their overall points will be their final points total and will result in their position in the overall drivers standing at the end of the year."
just seen this, and i was wondering, lowest scoring round=meeting X or lowest scoring round = race X ?? and when that be applied as there is 3 meetings left in the series??

with the calculations put into the spreadsheet Rob, the dropped round doesn't get omitted until all rounds are complete

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
All of this comment is going to sound like Debbie Downer, so I apologize in advance...
1. It appears there might need to be some clarity about the restart rules. If I recall, we ended up with about four restarts on the third race. After the fourth one the attitude was just kind of "screw it, we're two hours in and we need to get this over with." I think one restart was due to a lag out. Fortunately, we didn't restart due to the parade lap crash. Is there an actual maximum number of restarts, or do we just keep going until people get sick of it?
2. I enjoy levity as much as the next person, and the "race starts at 9am Eastern time" comment was funny the first time, but I think at one point it got confusing while one person said "start at 45" and the next person is saying no. I went at 45 and most of the field didn't, so we restarted. This happened last event as well, where one person said start at 55 and another start at 50 (which I did not hear) and so I was caught flat-footed while 3/4 of the field left at 50.
3. Speaking of levity, everyone was pretty punchy by race 3. I eventually just turned down my headset so I could hear my tv, but I must confess the scattered cones were a minor distraction. At one point, where the cones were supposed to indicate a closed part of the track, they were all missing and I got disoriented and briefly took the wrong turn. Totally my fault, obviously, but potentially avoidable if the guys intentionally punting the cones hadn't done so. This could also impact those not using a racing line, as the cones and distance markers are pretty critical.
4. Finally, I apologize for being a rolling chicane the last two events. For some reason I've really struggled to get a handle at Sedona and Infineon, and was clearly the slowest car on the track by a wide margin for the past 6 races. I think on race three Hurricane tried to pass me, but I didn't know he was on my right. I heard him say "on your right" but since the leaderboard doesn't show more then "XPR" and the cars all look identical, I had no idea he was talking to me and so I moved into my racing line and punted him pretty hard. Hopefully, the next three tracks play a bit more in my favor so I'll be less of an obstacle.

Well said Mako! The first two races were fairly smooth but the chatter was a bit much for me and the third race just became a joke with the communication and restarts.
No need to apologize for your pace. It'd be one thing if you were taking eradic lines or something but I was behind you for a bit in the second race and you were holding your lines well, seemed like you struggled a bit in the hard braking zones. These last two tracks have been tough on RWD.

Mako, if you were talking about race 3 in Lobby A, I wasn't there, I was in Lobby B. But if we did bump in Sedona it's no biggie. Rubbin is racin!! But as for my race 3 I do want to apologize to Posi. Didn't mean to lean on his drivers door panel in the turn 6.
Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I agree, race 1 and 2 went well without a hitch. Race 3 however, was a bit too much.
I apologize on behalf of XPR if our chatter was too much and the cone scattering affected some drivers. We were having fun and I think some of us, myself included, took it to far by the 3rd race when most of us were just ready for it to be over after the restarts and final crash that ruined our cars.

DeweyTee wrote:Darkside likes to talk a lot doesn't he..........
Yeah I do lol, but as of late I been noticing that my talking is starting to get distracting towards my performance, I realized it last night when I really knuckled down and starting paying attention to my lines/braking that I really started to pick up time. Like I said during qualifying, I got no problem expressing my opinion on anything or anyone if asked.
Lobby B went on without a hitch last night, we were all very cautious and gave each other plenty of room during racing. But that doesn't mean that we didn't have any contact either, Hailfire did a rather spectacular roll then stuck the landing. We had solid battles throughout the field, XPR RoadRunner, JKGrizzle and WiskeTango all fought hard over 2nd-6th a majority of the first 2 races. The real commotion happened during the 3rd race with the inverted grid ordering, it was like everyone from 7th on back got absolutely perfect starts but were held up by the guys who didn't get such hot starts. DTech soon locked up his brakes(big time too, he skidded for like 200 feet) and went into the side of JKGrizzle with myself also getting some collateral damage. A few laps later I unfortunately got into the back of DTech which sent him for a 180 after I was kinda squeezed down at the last hairpin(which he then said some rather rude stuff to me, but I won't get into it). After that my race was rather quiet.
I'm looking forward to the next 3 races, I'm happy with my position so far and how I have been performing. Just hoping I finish off strong. Good racing last night JKGrizzle/XPR RoadRunner, was alot of fun. Apologies to DTech for the spin, wasn't intentional, just really had no place to go.

Well mates, I think is good idea to bring this up and express who feel when people distract to other mates. The staff need to know what is going about to clarify this issue and make new rules.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Mako and Deuce, I am in total agreement with you guys. Four restarts? Really??? When that happened in Spec Miata, there were all kinds of hissy fits, people quit the series, ect. Just because its an "official" series doesn't mean that the rules go out the window... if anything, as an official event the rules should be adhered to.
Note: jokes about "start time" need to stop. Confusing racers who are struggling to hear important commands is BS, and those that were doing so should be ashamed if not penalized. There are rules against chatter, and those rules were tossed along with the restart number rules.
And there were restarts for minor issues, when there was no time for an actual wreck that would warrant one. I suggest people take a refresher course on TORA rules and standards to see what I mean.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
we weren't joking about start time, i asked the time cuz thats what i thought i heard. then clutch said no but everyone left anyway.
And only one restart was for a minor issue(race 3). race 2 restart was for lag related.
And the second race 3 restart was for a wreck that took out the feild. Not sure the cause but Mikey, you were sideways. And then the 3rd restart for race 3, not sure of the cause but again you were sideways blocking the track going into turn 1 and 4 cars were ruined before turn 1.
But none of us said anything cuz that was 3rd restart, so instead of being pissed and complaining. we had fun to keep the mood up, cuz we knew some ppl, likes us were ready to be done.
And if anything we did was in the wrong, please address it during or in private.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
^ That final restart was actually #4. I'm not the only one who was counting, as Mako says the same thing.
#3 was the time misunderstanding. And once again I wasn't the only one who misunderstood, as I wasn't the only one to go.
But in one of the earlier restarts, it seems that there was only aero damage among a couple people when the restart was called... which pissed me off as I had gotten a great start with Mako, Clutch and Duece all rather close behind. I'm pretty sure that Deuce was a bit upset with that too, as he left at that time and I am not 100% sure it was a lagout.
Whatever. Its all done now, so this is the last I will post on the matter, But I have a memory, and if this issue repeats itself I may bring it up as becoming a trend.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
you were right about it being number 4, but it was restart #3 for race 3.
myself, cain, small block had recieved major aero and internal damage on the which we called for a restart.
but dont worry, we will have it fixed by the next round

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Yeah I left after the mis communication on the start time which was the 3rd or 4th restart I believe. I have no problem with the restarts as for the most part they were legitimate but by that time the whole attitude of the lobby had changed and didn't seem anyone was taking it seriously.

Where are these rules at where the lowest score is dropped at the end of the year? To me this is kind of unfair for the people who have competed in all the races lose points and others who have missed one or more races get that missed race erased and have a better final finish. Currently without the lowest point race drop I am 10th in points, and yes I am the last in the list who have made all the races. I'll admit I am a team of 1 and don't have the big team support like some of you, but I am there every race and should be rewarded not penalized for my commitment as others should. Now I do understand sometimes life gets in the way of racing but that's the way it is. I'm not bringing this up because I suck at racing (because I do and I know it), I just don't want to be penalized for not doing anything wrong except being slower than the rest.
