Gee I'm happy I was in lobby B......... We didn't have the problems you "fast" guys have. It was a rather enjoyable evening even though I placed in my normal spot.

Where are these rules at where the lowest score is dropped at the end of the year? To me this is kind of unfair for the people who have competed in all the races lose points and others who have missed one or more races get that missed race erased and have a better final finish. Currently without the lowest point race drop I am 10th in points, and yes I am the last in the list who have made all the races. I'll admit I am a team of 1 and don't have the big team support like some of you, but I am there every race and should be rewarded not penalized for my commitment as others should. Now I do understand sometimes life gets in the way of racing but that's the way it is. I'm not bringing this up because I suck at racing (because I do and I know it), I just don't want to be penalized for not doing anything wrong except being slower than the rest.
I agree 100% completely with his statement, this is unfair to the drivers who have shown up to every race who don't necessarily get the highest finishes but yet suffer in the end. So you're meaning to tell me that if a guy misses 2 events, and finishes ahead of me in teh races he shows up, his races will get taken away and he'll finish ahead of me at the end? Especially because I am going from 6th to 11th in the standings.

its in the rules that there is a drop round (1 race) .
its for guys who cant make all the races because of family and work. its fair for everyone.

Yeah, I know rules are rules, just irritates me is all knowing that I'm gonna go from 6th to 11th(at least) in the standings, just bothers me is all. But I'll deal with it

Really the rule isn't fair. In real racing series, if a driver or team does not make the grid due to tech inspection, injury or no finances to race, they are not given a pass at the end of the season. As I said before, I understand life gets in the way. But, the drivers and teams that can and do make all the races, should not be penalized for it. This rule should be re-addressed in my opinion.
Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
in real race series drivers get subs that score points for them, here we don't.
but your telling me, because of my choice in work, when i'm forced to miss a race, i don't deserve to battle for the championship.
the rule is fair, who said anything about getting penalized??? It benefits everyone, your worst finish gets dropped. So if your in a tight points battle with someone, his worst finish may be worse than yours so you might beat him the end.
trust me, when the time comes, you'll be happy the rule is there

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
The 'dropped Round' has been a staple in TORA Series' results since... well, since i've been here. Sure, one person can make ALL rounds of a certain series, but one bad day/meeting, and you could've easily kissed your chances goodbye. Same goes for the drivers' who've missed one round. this way, they still have a chance. This is why your "worst scoring" round (bad day/missed round) is omitted so both drivers on both side of the spectrum can continue to fight for the points positions they're contesting for.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I guess I am just spinning my wheels here. This is my opinion on the subject and I am not changing my opinion. I am sorry if you take this the wrong way Soundwave, but in the majoraty of pro series races, if the driver is out of the car and a sub is put in, that driver doesn't get points. Only the car owner or the manufacturer do. If the rule has been around this long then so be it. In the end I'll know I busted my butt to do my best.

Denny Hamlin has been out a month, and yes Mark martin and Brian Vickers have been in his car the whole time, but... he got ZERO points for the time he has missed. Same for all real world race series. the owner and team get the sub's points, NOT the driver.
I too have missed a round, which I get dropped to the rule and all, but I also understand that its not fair to those with 100% attendance for a race to get totally deducted from their score. I have lost spots in other series due to the dropped round, and if you have noticed the dropped round rule never shows up in the Friday Spec Series.
I call it rewarding those who do put in the effort to make each and every round, like NASCAR, World of Outlaws, Indycar and F1 do.
Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Wow! What kind of rules are? are unfair rules... I not understand his math, and not make sense how it works? I don't like people who try to be unfair with other for their convenience. These rules there are not right and unfair for people who post "in" and are present on each meeting. The rules are simply, if you miss one race, you miss points, that's it...

And why doesn't someone create a poll and pose the question to everyone? That would be the most efficient way of finding a dominant result

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
There is no issue about dropped rounds, we have ran with dropped rounds since 07 for nearly every series, we also have before for certain series and feedback received was for us to add drop rounds.
We will not be changing the dropped rounds rule now we will take feedback for future series at the end of the TCC & NATCC but I see no similar discussion in the TCC thread.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I can understand everyone's opinion here. While it is not fair to the drivers that attend every race to drop a race result(thus dropping me from 6th place to 11th), whilst at the same time making it a level playing field for the drivers that have missed 1 race. It's an old rule that seems like they have been running it since 2007 and will have no signs of changing. So the only thing we can do is just deal with it, or not race at all.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I didn't mean to stir the pot when I posted the current standings, if you check before that I asked and darthmario said it wouldn't be applied until the end.
So I did a lil math just to give everyone a heads up before the end of the season when the dropped round takes effect.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Drop rounds are a necessity because of real life. If everyone was paid to race here then there wouldn't be dropped rounds. I actually think a better way to do it is to give the person that missed the race last place points. If you really think about it...it makes the most sense.
I wish we would just start from the initial countdown and save a ton of confusion and screw ups.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
fyi...I'm also apparently dropping five spots so it does seem a bit strange the dropped rounds are having that much impact. Last place points would fix that issue too.
Well...now I am a bit chapped about it.
LAST PLACE POINTS SHOULD BE GIVEN TO A DRIVER WHO MISSES A RACE. IF SOMEONE LAGS OUT...THEY SHOULD BE GIVEN POINTS FOR 2 POSITIONS BEHIND WHERE THEY WERE WHEN THEY LAGGED OUT. MY OPINION FOR 100% FAIR RACING.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
dropped rounds could be averaged of the seven races that person has made as well. ive seen that on another site. dropped rounds are a need. if you that are complaining had to miss a race for a funeral or watever. u wouldnt complain about that score being dropped. would u. every race league i race in uses thisvrule. its how it is n will how itll stay.

Averaging makes sense too. More than current setup anyway.

Well I can't speak for others, but I make every race I can. The only reason I miss a race is cuz of my job. I even scheduled my duty days on non race days but sometimes my higher ups change that.
I maybe taking this personal but Im trying not to. Whether its a drop round or an average drop. Something's need to be in place, cuz this isn't real racing. there will be that day when you will miss a race, and you will be thankful its there.

Totally agree there should be something in place. I just don't think a simple dropped round is the fairest way to do it.

Why is it an issue after 6 years, and only those who race or have ran in the natcc?
