Could be because of the amount of movement in the standings this time around. Or because of the number of newer racers, as this is their first time to be so high up in the standings.
Most likely a combination of both.

It's been an issue all along just better than having nothing. I've seen this come up in many series across the board. There are better ways to do things. TORA and many other racing sites prove it with rule changes. This is one that should be considered for a revamp.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Its a case of 'it was in the rules when you signed up to the series why is it a big problem now?' Or is it just the fact that the rules we write just get ignored?

This was answered already. Who's ignoring rules? Don't take the shyt so personally.

No one ignore rules, just it our concern of about. The most important part here is our opinion because we are part of TORA and if we look something that is unfair, we discuss it. Our concerns should be important for TORA and for everyone.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
They are, and we do listen and look at rules that may or may not require changes. What Chucky was saying is that this rule was stated from the very beginning and nobody questioned it then, but now that the points are heating up and the season is nearing the end people are now just realizing (remembering?) that there is a dropped round and don't seem to be happy with that.
As has been said, it's a fall back for everyone in-case real life gets in the way and it gives a bit of freedom and leeway to people throughout what is a relatively long season. Maybe there could be a bonus set of points for people who attend 100% of the rounds, which could be incentive to turn up to all of them if possible? People can use it to their advantage though, and they could decide that they don't want to turn up for a track that they aren't comfortable with. It's been a staple rule for years and it won't be changing mid-season especially at this stage. Maybe we can look at it again in the future, but in the past I have heard more people wanting the dropped wound than not having one.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Richy...don't you think people can also use the drop round if they aren't any good on the track? You're on the right track with some kind of 100% attendance reward or additional ten points per person for each race attended. Either way we are talking about the same thing. When you do all the different variations, the simple dropped round is the worst as far as fairness goes. To be honest...I thought the drop rounds were already included in the standings. Had i not know that...I would have mentioned this sooner.

Ok...so I guess the only thing I don't understand is why the points aren't kept up-to-date with the dropped rounds so there isn't a huge surprise like this towards the end of the series.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Cain, back on page 7 I asked. Darthmario said the points wouldn't adjust until the end. So that's when I did the math and posted the top 11 so everyone was actually aware...
I guess that was a bad idea, I didn't think there would of been this much hostility from it

because the spreadsheet is automated, I see what you are saying but Chris will simply not have the time to update every sheet like we used too, but feel free to ask, it maybe a different reason any way
maybe like Richy is saying we can look at the future

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Well, we are talking now. If you see there are many people writing about this concern, this should be considered as important issue. I'm not saying that we need to fix this right now, I'm saying that you need to considered our opinion about this topic. In my opinion this is unfair. For example, if Bloodycain has 100 points and DTechPR has 88 points, but Bloody miss one race and Dtech complete the serie at a 100%, but in that race Dtech gain 13 points and pass Bloody for one point in advance, but if you see the final result, Bloodycain win the serie, why? Because the rules state that they will eliminate the worst score, Am I right? This is my base of what I'm talking about this issue, and this is unfair for everyone.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
just take the rule as is. it was there when u signed up. if you dnt like it dnt race. all ur saying is that its unfair to you that you make all the races. ur worst score is dropped if i miss a race because something happened to my daughtgetting sick etc.. im thankful this rule is in place. and so would u. it is fair both ways.

I will not take the rule as is, that is why I am having this discussion about it. I am not asking The powers that be to change it right here and now. I am stating my opinion about the rule. Just like it is your opinion that it is in place. Your statement that I have to accept it and that if I don't like it don't race is very arrogant and somewhat rude to say the least. I respect yours and everyone elses opinion on the subject. If I miss a race because of something happening with my son and daughter then so be it. I expect to get no points, but I know what the rule is now and still I don't care for it. I do thank the staff for taking a look at it in the future. For me this is the last I will post on this matter until it is brought up for discussion in the future. If anyone feels the need to berate me because of my opinion then go right ahead. I have been on this earth for far too long to let it bother me. Now let's get back to racing!
Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
The dropped round has been around for a good while in TCC and its used as a get of jail card sort of thing as we all have lives outside TORA.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I personally don't like it since I feel that showing up for all events is something that should be rewarded. That said, I understand why it's there and is arguably more fair than not dropping a bad round. Not just because sometimes life gets in the way and might make someone miss a race, but also because lag or connection issues could ruin a whole round for someone.
