Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Let's start a "Best Attendance" bonus......Awarded to the racer who attended all races and had the highest total score. And, and how about a pole sitter, most laps led bonus?

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I would like to bring up issues that happened at the last round of NATCC that a member has made aware to the stewards.
We are lead to believe that talking during the call out of the race time has happened, were ONLY the pole sitter and lobby host should be talking. Once every one has finished lining up on the grid the lobby host asks the pole sitter for a start time and after the pole sitter states that time the lobby host will say the time again and all drivers wait for the 'lights to go out'.
Other drivers talking causes confusion and can make others miss the start time.
We have also been made aware of a incident were a driver has driven the wrong way on track to get back to the pits. This is UNACCEPTABLE driving and we are very disappointed by it.

What you just pointed out, happens in TCC.... Don't be giving us the talk when the other series does the exact same thing

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
It certainly hasn't happened in the lobbies I have been in during the TCC. It is the start of the race, people should respect the lobby host and listen to instructions that are being given and keep quiet to allow people to concentrate. From what I understand about what happened in the NATCC lobby it has not only put some people off from racing in TORA again but has put TORA in a bad light for newcomers. That is not the sort of welcome I would expect people to get to this community, and if it continues then we will take action against it.
Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I'm only assuming that your referring to a start where a one person said a time to confirm it and the pole sitter said no but half the field left anyways? There was some lag issue and it was hard to hear him but the last half of the field heard him say no...
And it happens in TCC lol been there saw that. For granted the pre-race chatter was about the same to me(maybe better than hat we had) , the racing was a bit more aggressive than I anticipated and driving backwards had even occurred.
All I'm saying is, when Franchitti gave us a lecture or "the talk" about what happened, he needs to address the whole community rather than pointing fingers at series he hasn't been apart of. It's the right thing to do.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Chaddy is a steward and as such he is involved in every series. He looks at issues and incidents that come up in all series, and as this was raised to the stewards he thought he would make a statement as a reminder of the behaviour we expect within all our lobbies. I am also well aware of the issues and incidents that have happened in the TCC, and that even lead to a driver being suspended from the remainder of the series for unacceptable behaviour. The same actions can be taken across all lobbies in all series. You are correct however, this should be taken as a general statement to everyone and not solely NATCC.
Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Yeah, he is a steward and he is involved. But still, what he said should be addressed to the whole community and not just a small few.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I addressed it here as the incidents were raised in a NATCC lobby. The NATCC is part of the main TORA championships as its in 'The Pitlane' section, and its a good championship for our overseas members to enter, but the driving and behavior at the last meeting was below TORA and MSA standards.
Its true that all members racing in our touring car championships have to remember to keep quiet so the lobby host and polesitter can do the start time for the races, but as Richy said our TCC was fine and I hope all the others were too.
The driver who drove the wrong way has been PMed and now the matter is over, so please take care and have fun for the rest of this touring car season.

If you have issue in a lobby and feel its not up to standard put a SI in or if its not a racing issue contact the staff.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
if your talking about me there was a lag crash in warm up lap. after a few restarts there were no more. i pitted and went around the field backwards yes. no harm to nebody in the lobby. i guess next time ill take damage n just race with it or go around a lap to beat everybody in the race by a lap. or maybe do a restart when asked to do since race was only in warm up form.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I think the warm up lap has caused more issues than preventing, and we may be changing the way the races are started in the future. I thought we may have been able to do it without incident and it would be a nice and fun thing to do, but in both the TCC and NATCC it has been more of a hindrance than anything.
Hopefully next meeting will be smoother and more fun for everyone

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
i love the warm-up lap. that whole style of grid setting is unique and fun.
hopefully we can sort out an easier way but with the same concept, if you guys decide to do away with it.

i was not driving backwards to get the pits. facts are wrong. i got lag damage n pitted during warm up lap. i had to go backwards to get to my spot on the grid. everyone was stopped i made my way backwards through the grid and safely got back to my spot. maybe you should get the facts straight first.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
If its the warm up lap and you have damage and have go to the pits, it would be common sense to wait at the end of the pitlane and wait till the field passes. Its what happens in real racing, have you ever seen a driver drive the wrong way between cars to get their grid spot again?
My facts came from other drivers from the lobby.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
the drivers in the lobby allowed him to drive backwards. the drivers in the lobby had fun with it. it wasnt in the rules for that particular situation. when he asked if he could, no one said no, in fact ppl said go ahead.
there is a line btw real racing and online racing.
i'm really concerned with some facts are just hear-say...

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
well no its not common sense to wait. considering i was told it was fine. so whoever complained should have brought it up in the race. that would be commen sense. i didnt effect anybodys race. that waiting in the pits thing isnt in rules so that isnt comsense since ita not in rule book. nice try with smart commen. ur a steward n ur attitue and the way u come acrossed is not acceptable. ive also sent you a pm about this issue. you have yet to respond but continue talking about in the forums. again not acceptable by a steward.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
No... In fact, driving backwards on any road is possibly the most unnerving things one can see while racing, or even just driving on the freeway. It doesn't happen too often, but I have seen someone driving the wrong way on the freeway at night a couple of times, and I had forgotten how unsettling it is. This is mainly because it is so completely out of place and unexpected. Likewise, back in my karting days, occasionally, if someone got hurt fairly bad after a wreck, the flagman would throw a red flag and then release the ambulance or medical golfcart to travel backwards on track in order to arrive at the scene as quickly as possible. Well one time the ambulance decided to travel backwards before all of the karts had stopped on the grid (as was procedure). Well guess who was one of the three karts still running (and likely battling for 15th place I might add.... Me! My heart just about jumped out of my chest!CQR Franchitti wrote:If its the warm up lap and you have damage and have go to the pits, it would be common sense to wait at the end of the pitlane and wait till the field passes. Anyway, regardless of if it specifically mentions to "travel the direction of racing traffic at all times" in the sporting regs (which I believe it does), the fact that one "needs to observe racing etiquette at all times", should suffice.
