They wouldn't let you order if there was no pre-order stock left of that bundle - as soon as they're gone it goes 'out of stock' on the site. So if you got order confirmation, you order should be secure. The only way you wouldn't get one is if Microsoft fail to deliver the promised number of pre-order units to the retailer - small chance of that happening if they have production issues, then it would go on a first-come-first-served basis.

I think they only have the expensive bundles left now - the £429 FM5 pack-ins have sold out, so you have to get a bundle with FIFA 14, FM5, extra controllers, things like that.

Quite funny... via IGN:

In a string of recent tweets, a designer at Halo developer 343 Studios called the design of a prominent female character in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain "disgusting."

"Our industry should know better than this," David Ellis, designer at 343 said. "...Industry full of man babies."

Ellis' complaints were in response to an image of a specific character called Quiet, a sniper character revealed at E3 who will play a prominent role in The Phantom Pain. This reveal followed a series of tweets by Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, in which he said that he encouraged art director Yoji Shinkawa to make characters appear more "erotic."

Kojima has since contextualized his comments, saying "erotic" wasn't the right word, and that he meant more along the lines of "sexy." Check out the image in question below. Do you agree? Is Quiet's revealing design too much?

Was pleased to go into Game for a chat and find I could pay off bits of the console prior to launch.
Also heard they are planing gamer nights ahead of time so you can choose the exact package you want, console, games, controllers etc and either pay for it ahead of time and simply pick up on the night OR pay on the night having chosen everything.
They're considering a load of options to make the collection process really simple and straightforward.

Essentially all I have to do on the night is walk in pick up my console and come home. Now that sounds better than standing in the centre of Cardiff for 4 hours then waiting for the kid infront to decide what snap on covers he wants.

Thrustmaster has unveiled its first peripheral for the Xbox One, the Ferrari 458 Italia Edition TX Racing Wheel. The accessory will be a 7:10 scale replica of the real-life Ferrari 458 Italia wheel, and features metal gas and break pedals, as well as die-cast paddle shifters.

Miscellaneous Next-Gen Gaming thread - Page 24 Thrusmater-tx-racing-wheel-610x381

Thrustmaster collaborated with Microsoft to develop the racing wheel, which includes Menu and View buttons for full compatibility with the upcoming console.

Additional specifics and release information will be revealed at a later date, but the Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel can be pre-ordered now through Gamestop and Amazon for $399.99.

Got your eye on Forza Motorsport 5? Mad Catz has been working the game's development team to deliver the company's new Force Feedback Racing Wheel, the first of its kind built specifically for the Xbox One.

Miscellaneous Next-Gen Gaming thread - Page 24 Mad-catz-xbox-one-racing-wheel-610x266

The racing wheel features suede leather grips, Force Feedback motors, and a removable aluminum wheel face. A customizable Pedal Set is also included, which can be used to adjust spring resistance as well as the gas and brake pedals' height and spacing.

Pricing and availability for Mad Catz' Force Feedback Racing Wheel have yet to be announced, but you can expect to see it launch around the same time as the Xbox One this holiday season.

Personally, I think the Mad Catz one looks a lot better. But I believe Thrustmaster will actually deliver a better wheel. Mad Catz is very hit and miss.

A recent YouTube video shows off what appears to be the dashboard for the upcoming Xbox One.

In the original video, which has since been removed, YouTube user Jackson Carter shows off a couple of features with a console being used in Microsoft's open hardware beta. The dashboard consists of dozens of icons for apps such as Internet Explorer, Bing, email, music, LiveTV and more.

While watching a cutscene from the beta of Ryse: Son of Rome, Carter jumps back to the dashboard, while the game continues to play in a minimized window. With the press of a button, the game jumps back to full screen without pausing.

https://youtu.be/QDlPs7Xx2gA

Unfortunately I can't embed the video, but a windows 8 style dashboard would work very well for me. Already having a Window 8 Phone & a Windows 8 PC Very Happy

For those involved in video making, or asking if your capture card will work -

http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/28/5037506/xbox-one-dashboard-demo-video

"Xbox One’s "Game DVR" service, which lets you capture gameplay and share it over Xbox Live, is also demonstrated in the video. "

However 2 questions

1 - Max length of video you can record? ( I guess 10 minutes)
2 - What you can do after recorded. ( I will guess you can only upload it to partnered channels, such as youtube etc. I can't imagine you will be able to upload to a computer for post editing.

1. Xbox One constantly records the last 5 minutes of every game being played (at system level so this feature is always available - the box has a 8GB of Flash memory built-in as well as the 8GB RAM and 500GB hard drive, flash memory used for instant pause/resume, recording etc). Of course games can add custom ways to save footage too, but from a system level it looks like 5 minutes maximum.

2.From what I've seen and read so far, at launch, recorded clips are only accessible from Upload Studio on Xbox One. Here you can edit clips, add commentary and pre-baked 'wrappers' showing your gamer tag, custom title 'e.g. Awesome overtake' etc. Edited clips are saved to your Uploaded Videos section of your profile. Anyone on Xbox One can then just bring up your gamer profile, choose Uploaded Videos and watch your clip - in the same way you look at another players bio, achievements etc on 360. Uploading of clips to external sources (YouTube, Facebook etc) is due in early 2014.
