What is the MSA TORA Spec Cup?

Welcome one and all to our first every spec racing series.

Every Wednesday we will be hosting a joint TORA / TCR Spec Cup Racing Series.

To quote one of our members on our recent TCR clio series -

In my opinion, keeping this as a fixed build, non-tuning series would be of great benefit to TORA and could serve as an excellent 'rookie' event for newcomers to the site.

A site I used to frequent used to run something similar and insisted that all new racers competed in the series before they were allowed to enter the headline events - I'm not sure this is something TORA would want to pursue but I think we should encourage new racers in this direction. It's a great way of familiarising yourself with the way a TORA event runs and the standards we expect without the pressure and intensity of series like TORA GT's, ISCC, TCC, etc

This exactly what this series will bring great fun racing for new and old members to either gain experience or develop your driving skills in spec classes.

Expect to see a return of the clios, BMW's and who knows but fear not cars will not become too quick.

Rogue, the OP of this thread sounds much like 'why' I started the Friday Spec Series as well as Winter Heat. Smile

Untuned/minimal tuned events make a great starting point for a TORA career, as well as putting on some of the closest racing you'll find anywhere. I like to think of my Friday Spec Series as "casual intense racing".

We have a change of plans regarding the Spec Cup, expect to see an expansion on this and what exactly it will entail soon. For now nothing has changed and the golfs will still be raced for the next 5 weeks.

I would like information on this series. Is it in session? Can I still join? What times are qualifying and races? I'm in the Pacific Time Zone which is currently in Daylight Savings Time. I calculate that to be -7 BST. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance for the information.

Not been long joined TORA and agree in this being a great starting place for people just getting into great racing without hopefully getting smashed about to much. I was wondering if this series would be carrying on, on the xbox one and forza 5?

From what I understand, there may well be a Spec Series for FM5 within a week or few after release, as well as the continuation of the Spec Cup here on FM4 on Wednesdays.
