FM5 or FM4??

So with all the community features removed from FM5 to appease the mass of casual racers (no storefront, no auction house, no vinyl gifting, no tune sharing, no design sharing, no mass invites to custom lobbies), can I assume that for the foreseeable future TORA race series will revert back to the game that actually allowed racing leagues to operate effectively, FM4?

I sure hope so.

FM4 will have a longer lifespan than many people thought...

Whilst I haven't played the game and only spectated from the outside of launch it sounds like for a racing game FM5 is a great addition and a good step forward, but for organised online racing - not just TORA - we will all be severely limited with what we are used to doing.

As our 'official' series were not planned to start until March/April we will see what condition the game is in then. Until then we will need to keep the focus on FM4 however as I think many for the Staff people have actually sold their 360s we will need to see how things will progress.

I wonder if that`s why the "Interview" with Turn10 got cancelled at the last minute. They must have known the changes coming were going to hit the organised online racing community hard.

Anyone for Iracing??  

Great shame about FM5 not having the stuff we need to run championships smoothly. Could still work but Kilroy said it has no saved replays online so that kills any SIs for Stewards to handle.

Without replays, we can't steward, which means we can't organise events to MSA standard..

I've already got my copy of FM5. I'm hoping that all these missing things are put in at a latter stage but if that's not the case I would prefer to see pCars as the alternative

Well we don't know what that game will be like on the XBone. I've played the alpha on PC and can't remember the ability to save replays after races. Might have changed since I last played

Pcars will have a similar thing to the forza storefront except without the locked stuff people sell.

From what I can gather then; for the time being racing will continue on FM4 until all the question marks over FM5 are answered and the DLC packs are released and paint a better picture of what there is to work with on FM5... right?

DLC is a minor issue now as without the option to spectate ,save replays ,save lobby options and the stupidness of lobby invites it is near impossible for any organised racing site to use FM5.

As for P.Cars lets just keep our fingers crossed

You still have the option to share paints and tunes just a little bit different and anyone can use it. Main issue is the multiplayer now.

So for the foreseeable future racing on TORA will be on the FM4 platform? As for Pcars, I had heard that it might be released on the 360, does anyone know anything about that?

PCars changed their mind a couple of months ago. It will be Xbox One and PS4 now. 360/PS3 development was stopped.

Literally just read that on wikipedia I suppose if FM5 doesn't live up to expectations then Pcars will be plan B... is that generally what the score is in terms of future racing on TORA?

I think TORA should keep using FM4 until the dust settles down. Lots of people still have a 360 and some us still want to make use of our Fanatec Wheels just a little bit more.

There isn´t much of a "upgrade" in FM5 regarding league racing and supporting a game that doesn´t support "you" doesn´t make a lot of sense.

I´m actually enjoying FM5 more than I expected but it still feels like a Forza Prologue, which is disappointing.

If it does turn out to be a Forza 6 Prologue, then it's fantastic and FM6 is looking great already We're just missing a few bits to make it work for us.

You can stick forza five up your arse. I dont care how good it is anymore.

But that is only from the last 5 mins or so, and has a limited length. It is also only from the perspective of the recorder who is playing the game, so it is limited in that sense.

it's better than nothing, and that particular command only records the last 30s

I've had quite a few laughs and used that to record the moment.
