Post by Fazed Intro Tue 18 Feb 2014 - 22:36

I want to start a F1 2013 season championship, my freind hosts a small one with just friends of his, so I thought why not see if you guys would be interested. Lobbies are restricted to 16 (which sucks, it would be awesome having a 22 car strong grid) which will consist of 8 teams of two drivers, or 5 teams with up to six 'lone wolves' of you just don't like sharing the limelight. Standard rules and points system in effect, with possibly bonus points for: fastest qualifying time and fastest lap in the race. The races will be contested over the 2013 calender and will be 100% distance (taking between 90 and 120mins, depending on how heavy your lead foot is) full pit strategies in effect also for some good strategic overtakes.
Teams available for partners -
Caterham
Marussia
Sauber
Force India
Williams
Lotus
Mclaren
Red Bull
Teams for the lone competitors -
Torro Rosso
Mercedes AMG
Ferrari.
Teams will be issued on a first come, first serve basis. With that in mind... dibs on Mercedes! Wink
If people would enjoy this, I will set up dates and times for our first Q+R...

Please say yes! It'll be some close racing with none of the media bulls**t in real F1 Smile comment if you'd enjoy this series Smile

This will now only be a team event, so please disregard the lone driver teams, it will be contested with 8 teams, i may shuffle the teams around a bit for more balanced grids

Classics are proper hard to get q quick lap time, took me a while to get used to peddaling the car in the lower gears to get traction.

Very satisfying when you get it right though, lapped someone twice the other day at Jerez over 25%, I stopped for extra tyres just to get some quick laps in at the end lol

I do enjoy thrashing them around, if I'm honest they just give the sense of raw speed, no kers, no DRS it's a really pure version on the sport

it's proper racing,
not star trek spaceship evading stuff

i tried, on my first go of the game, the 1980s Ferrari at Imola, i though i had traction on, but i turned it off, as you can imagine that didn't end well, off at every corner and Dqed lap 2 turn 3 in my first ever race in the game
then went to 1999 ferrari and brands hatch WITH tcs and killed it haha
then again that was the car that made me fall in love with F1
but no doubt i'll try the 80s cars again at imola and jerez and Moncao
3 tracks i was looking forward to the most

It was a toss up between them Torro Rosso, i feel that Saubers car is to 'Stable' and Torro Rosso is more of a challenge, suppose thinking about it, their car is quicker than a force India, could maybe drop them. Here's an idea, I'll put all teams in, and the three with the least activity on sign in will be dropped

Would it not be an idea to run all teams but have them set even, then it would be down to the teams setup and driver skill, would be really unfair for someone to have an advantage just because they got in first on the team choice.

F1 2013 Championship - Gauging Interest Empty Re: F1 2013 Championship - Gauging Interest

Post by Fazed Intro Sun 23 Feb 2014 - 20:56

I ran some testing today with a red bull and a Marussia, and the Marussia on average, can be up to 3seconds slower on a lap through top speed alone, so I was going to run them all as equal instead of 2013 specs, so the team choice is merely car preference
