Restrictor plate racing at its finest. Missed taking both races this year by .012. Shocked

After a rather good first half drafting with ABEnstein from the rear to midpack, had a frustrating second half. Went into T1 on L1 on the outside of a three maybe four wide, and rather than causing the big one, I overlifted and found myself out of the draft entirely. Short pitted, hoping to catch James and Jordan on the stop, but that too failed and once again I was out of the draft.

Then came a long awaited yellow and a chance to catch up... and caught up I did, right into a lag induced big one, followed by another lag induced big one.

To then run in P6 before relinquishing to eighth on the last lap is actually a lot better than that race went for me...

As Soundwave stated: restrictor plate racing at its best. These wrecks are in line with what a segment of NASCAR fans pay big money for... but I am not one of "those" fans.

tried watching the replay back to see how far it went before it cut off, and it ends roughly with 10 laps to go of the 2nd half. :'( that fight for the lead in those last laps were to die for too.

here's my best description of the final laps Jordan:

i grabbed this from my post on the LMR forums

I got both replays up on my SF if you guys want to watch, but the 2nd part replay cuts off roughly with 10 laps to go. :-\

Anyways, those last 10 laps were intense!! between myself, Rob (Soundwave) and Jordan (using a different gamertag this weekend), we were exchanging the lead almost every lap, it seemed. at the start of the penultimate lap, i was in third, Jordan in 2nd and Rob was leading. i saw rob was starting to pull a little on the two of us, so i tried to bump draft Jordan, but he kept moving up the track a little each time i met his rear bumper. By the entrance to turn 3, i gave up and ducked underneath, and got the run on Rob. ALL the while, we were catching a trio of slower (damaged) vehicles coming out of turn 4, and Rob had to check up in the slightest way, and gave me the extra run i need to pass him coming to the White Flag. Once i took the lead, i stayed to the bottom as much as i could for that final lap. And Rob had a bit of a run coming out of turn 4, so i left a lane open to my right, as i didn't want him to crossover to my left, and as he was pulling alongside, he tried to grab a bit of my side-draft, and we made a little contact, as we approached the Finish line, 0.012 apart!

And the whole 2nd part of the race, i was running on 12% front & 5% side aero damage. think i was a little too close to Bandit on the start of part 2 and bumped his rear as he was making the start call (seemed like his speed fell just as he was saying go)

I'll say the lapped traffic helped you get the run to pass me. But ultimately, Jordan hindered my line out of 4 and I couldn't get the run I needed to pass you before the line.

I was hoping to slow a little bit at the start so you could start bump drafting me earlier, but I went too slow and I got 7% side aero after you hit my rear.

Had a look at the race 2 replay and yeah you start slowly coming up bandit which caused me to tap your right rear quarter panel, that causes my car to slide and I was in the wall. onwards & upwards! afro
