Open Source Tune Empty Open Source Tune

Post by LZR Harmonic Wed 12 Nov 2014 - 5:42

I've noticed that some people have had trouble coming across an agreeable tune, so I thought I'd share mine. It's a bit unorthodox when it comes to the numbers, but it works well for me. I made this on the #5 Ford, but it should be applicable to all of the V8s.

Settings (format is front/rear):
Tire pressure: 30.5/30.5 PSI

Final Drive: 3.25 - uses 2nd through 5th gear

Camber: -0.3/-0.1
Toe: -0.1/-0.1
Caster: 3.4

ARBs: 14.50/7.50

Springs: 308.0/689.0 lb/in
Ride Height: 6.5/5.0 in

Rebound: 6.6/5.0
Bump: 1.5/1.5

Aero: Whatever you want. The car runs the same lap times for me regardless of aero settings. Run maximum for easier handling, minimum for a small straight line advantage (qualifying vs. race tune for some people)

Braking Balance: 43%
Braking Pressure: 150%

Acceleration Differential: 14%
Deceleration Differential: 4%

That's the tune I'll most likely be running. I'll update this with any changes if I make them, and feel free to suggest any changes that have helped out an issue that you may have had with this tune. Any feedback is appreciated, and I hope this helps. Cheers!

I am, but this is pretty much as stable yet responsive as I can get it, with or without TCS. I can still power slide it even with TCS on. The thing just has so much wheel spin.

Thanks for sharing Bulin.

I may try some of your settings, a bit at a time, and see if they solve an issue for me, or make matters worse. And I am bound to try the whole package to see if that helps my lap times and/or consistency.

That's probably just something with the gearing. Put your gears (and maybe diff settings, too) to see if your launch improves.

Try using half throttle off the line.

Coming back to this after looking over my tune, there's more similarities than differences, but I am off to try those different bits.

The lower camber and front biased rebound stiffness seemed to be the best changes from stock that worked for me. Again if anyone suggests changes post them here!

Used the tune last night, and picked up almost a full second. Maybe could have picked up more time but it was past my bedtime, and the wife kept interrupting me in key brake zones.

It is a very good base TCS helps if u have a leadfoot, with a touch of aero 2-5% i find it to be very stable. with or without aero im runing 1:28.xxx .

Bulin this tune is fantastic! (Well most of it) I used this for my Qualy last night and got a 1:29.7 so I thought I would change the final drive because it's too slow out of corners and such and I'm now running 1:27.8xx's. 3.73 final drive works pretty well lol Cool

Glad to hear that! I haven't had trouble with the gears as 2nd works nicely out of slow corners for me, but the car does have a really peaky power band, so a higher final drive can help in most cases.
