Learning to use the clutch is a pain in the rear! I keep screwing the clutch up while downshifting... every now and again I am off clutch too early...

I really dont know if I am any faster....

In A class you should gain about a second per lap
what are you using as the clutch?

Moved it to my button set. Up shifting I got down... It's the downshift that I slip off the clutch every so often. How much does clutch damage really hurt, as I have heard it both ways

I'm even finding difficulties with the R32 as well trying to get it to those top times. Best I can do is a 1:36 if I am lucky.

Best way to get used to using the clutch during downshifting (Fors me) is too go on any track with a straight that you can hit all 6 gears/ 5 gears on.
Go as fast as you would for you next race I.E. Road atlanta. once you get to the speed you would reach on "Road Atlanta" Brake 50-75% and down shift as fast as you can while not doing damage to your engine.
After you become use to this while not (If you do) Damaging your engine. Try to keep your rpms within your power band and down shift faster. This will benifit you in many ways.

In FM3 using the clutch was significantly faster, in FM4, not so much really. You will lose more time "missing" shifts than using manual, no clutch. Clutch damage will have a serious effect over the course of a race if it gets bad enough.
