Nah, was thinking more that to be eligible to compete in the BTCC you have to have an S2000 compliant car, and that means it has to have at least four doors. It could enter under the BTC spec regs, but that's pretty pointless as it would be ineligible to compete towards the championship.

ah.

There is an agreement with the BTCC and STCC however that the cars can race in each others championships.

The car is built to S2000, but under a Swedish national homologation, i think the Swedish MSA put this rule in to get more cars entering.

Can score points in STCC and BTCC, the Volvo C30, another 3 door car did very well last season in the STCC.

No, more that a UK based team has got to build or buy to the rules laid out by ToCA, which states that to be eligible to score in the championship a car must be built to S2000 regs and have at least 4 doors. But a team could buy a car or cars from a STCC team, or a Swedish team could race, and they would be eligible to score because they have been homologated to the Swedish rules.

I believed the agreement to be a case of allowing cars from either championship to race in the other series without undergoing homologation again, but not that it allowed it to circumvent the rules. That's just wrong in my book.
