THE first week of the TORA V8 Supercars on Forza Motorsport 4 has concluded within the last hour, and here I am, giving you the scoop on the ins and outs of the Nurburgring Test and Media day. After a delay due to connection issues, all 14 drivers finally managed to get their cars on track for the season opener. Three restarts and more connection issues later, race 1 was underway and it was ZY Barker YZ who got off to an early lead, followed closely by HCR Bellmond and BIGBEN0913 in 3rd. there was plenty of action on the first few laps. Flyin Mikey J caught a nudge from BIGBEN which cascade into Mikey ploughing into the wall, contact at the T8 hairpin sent Windcharger onto the grass and down the order and about as many position changes as the entire Formula 1 season... Ultimately, it was ZY Barker YZ who bought it home for the Ax4x 00 Motorsport Ford, with HCR Solar second in his HCR Traxxas Ford and paul299 rounded up the podium for race 1 in his Warparth Motorsport Holden. Unfortunately, HCR Bellmond, Sub Zero Nova and IRE Skillz failed to finish race 1 due to problems with the cars, and were unable to return to the track for Practice 1 or Race 2.


Practice 1 would follow shortly after Race 1. A quick fire 15 minute session where drivers were encouraged to set the quickest lap they could. With the driver count now down to 10, all drivers had plenty of track space to work with and it times were shooting to the leader board in quick succession. It was YZ Barker YZ who shot to the top in the opening few laps of the session with a 1:59.686, but pushed his car too hard, causing the electrics to fail and meaning he had to retire the car. ErebusV8 had a short lived run at the top with his 2:00.962 before HCR Solar leaped past with a 1:58.741 and BIGBEN0913 with his very impressive 2:00.741, exactly 2 seconds behind front man Solar. 3rd placed driver from race 1, paul299, set a time of 2:00.982, only 2 hundredths of a second behind third place ErebusV8. It was Hailfire97x and JJRinzler who finished 5th and 6th with their 2:01.461 and 2:02.535. Flyin Mikey J and XB6 Broomzke were the two who rounded up the pack at the end of the session with Flyin Mikey J posting a respectable 2:03.019 and a 2:03.563 for XB6 Broomzke after having retired from a clutch failure.


Race 3 soon came about, with 9 cars on the grid after the Ax4x 00 Motorsport team were unable to fix ZY Barker YZ’s Ford after the P1 Electrical failure. ErebusV8 started on pole with none other than paul299 next to him in second, two drivers that had only been separated by 0.02 seconds the whole day. In third was Hailfire97x, followed by XB6 Broomzke, Flyin Mikey J and JJRinzler setting up the mid pack and BIGBEN0913, Windcharger and HCR Solar completed the back 3 positions. At the start it was ErebusV8 leading with 4880 HP following closely behind. Hailfire97x got the jump on paul299 into the first corner, followed by HCR Solar. At the run to the Turn 8 hairpin, there was a collision between BIGBEN0913, JJRinzler, XB6 Broomzke and Flyin Mikey J which caused the first safety car of the season. After Flyin Mikey J and XB6 Broomzke pitted to repair their damage from the incident, and caught back up to the field, ErebusV8 lead the restart making most of his chance and gained a lead coming into T1 followed by Hailfire97x and paul299. Two safety cars later, including 1 G-W-C to finish, it was ErebusV8 who took top spot for Ax4x 00 Motorsport, followed by Hailfire97x and HCR Solar. Paul299 finished in 4th place after running onto the sand at the Schumacher S on lap 16 followed by Flyin Mikey J in 5th, XB6 Broomzke in 6th and Windcharger8199 in 7th. Unfortunately, BIGBEN0913 and JJ Rinzler did not finish the race due to extensive damage received in the 2nd lap collision.
