Project CARS Spec Cup – Caterham Trophy

Rules & Regulations:

General Racing Rules & Driving Etiquette

Motor racing as defined by TORA, is a non contact sport. It is understandable that on occasion, some contact may occur as a consequence of incidents caused by either party, like lag for example. Competitors with lag issues won’t be penalized, but will be asked to improve their connection for future participation in TORA’s events. If the issue is persistently hindering other competitor’s experiences, please perform a speed test on your connection via http://www.speedtest.net/ Once you have completed this, see the connection section via the link below

http://forums.theonlineracingassociation.com/t1312-xbox-live-connectivity

TORA expects every competitor who partakes in our championships and meeting to behave in an appropriate and respectable manner. Insulting comments or behaviour towards fellow competitors, race stewards, lobby hosts and staff is unacceptable and will be dealt with severely. Also, respectable on-track etiquette is expected of all competitors. This includes on-track battles, track limits, dirty driving etc.

DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP

This will be a championship fought by each driver for themselves. The points at the end of this series will be their final points total and will result in their position in the overall drivers standings at the end of the series. This will also include a maximum of 1 dropped round which will erase your worst score from your total.

TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP

Teams will consist of a minimum of 2 drivers and a maximum of 2. Throughout the entirety of the series, the top two scoring drivers from each team will count towards the teams points total from each meeting. The total points from this championship will include a maximum of 1 dropped round which will erase your worst score.

PRIVATEERS CHAMPIONSHIP

To be eligible for competing in the privateers championship, drivers should only compete for themselves and not be part of a team. The points at the end of this series will be their final points total and will result in their position in the overall drivers standings at the end of the series. This will also include a maximum of 1 dropped round which will erase your worst score from your total.

SUBSTITUTE/TEAM DRIVER CHANGES

There are no substitute or team driver changes allowed in this series. Once you’ve registered a team of drivers, the team must stay with their original line up throughout the entirety of this championship.

CAR RULES

The vehicle of choice for this Spec Cup series will be the Caterham Superlight R500

Because the governing of tuning is virtually impossible on Project CARS, all competitors will be allowed to tune their vehicle if they wish to do so.

RACE MEETING SET-UP

We ask that every competitor needs to be on Xbox live 25 minutes (at most) prior to the start of the race session, and be appearing online. Anyone who is not online, or not attempting to accept more than 3 game invites will not take part in either a session or the entire event.
Every competitor must post themselves as either “IN”, “Maybe” or “OUT” in the relevant Sign In thread in order to be eligible to take part in an event. This must be done by the deadline which will be 1 hour before the race meeting begins. If a connection issue is apparent, then please contact the race director or lobby hosts as soon as possible and they will do their upmost to ensure that you can connect to any of the qualifying lobbies.

FREE PRACTICE & QUALIFYING RULES:

Before the beginning of each quali session, there will be a 15 minute free practice so it'll give each competitor enough time to fine tune their cars & trial out the circuit.

Qualifying for each meeting will be approximately 15 minutes in length, but the actual session will be 10 minutes long. This is to provide the lobby hosts extra time to record all of the qualifying times so it’ll make our task easier of assembling you into the correct racing lobby.
Once the 10 minutes have elapsed, every competitor must park their vehicle at the first corner and remain still for the lobby host to record all of the lap times.
