Re: Round 1: Oulton Park Discussion Thread
I have to be at work in 90 minutes, thus I don't have time for these Xbox Live errors. I'll sign up for Wednesday's qualifying.
Edit: Just as I typed this post, I got another invite, loaded in, and qualifying began. Around four people disconnected, and I think there were some major Xbox Live issues. With E3 and Live updates going on, my game couldn't pass DRM, and even boot up. That's probably what Mr. Driv3 was experiencing. And the store was down, so you couldn't reinstall. Here's to a better experience come race day.

The lobby you qual in is the lobby you stay in for that round.
Re: Round 1: Oulton Park Discussion Thread

depending on what time you get compared to everyone else in your class is what lobby you will be in for example A, B or C. lobbies will be split up into 12 with 6 or each class i think

I think I need to book in for the Friday UK qualifying session please.
Re: Round 1: Oulton Park Discussion Thread
Well, that was a baptism of fire!
First time back racing in a few years, didn't do myself any favours by not doing as much practice as i could. But wow, some of the times others a posting are crazy. Some very very quick guys!
Looking forward to the races on Sunday now!

There is some weird things going on with my FFB... Single player TT I have it just right. But when the Q started all the FFB was gone. Anybody else had these issues. I have calibrated wheel after update.

My game does it as well but only when I`m driving the Zonda at Monza so I just simulate the practice and qualifying it seems to work.Fazed Intro wrote:My game keep dashboarding -.-

What time are the races and qualifying to be held in game. I understand the weather will vary but the times should be constant. I'm hearing that the in-game time for qualifying varied between rooms and that is unacceptable.

Thanks to everyone who qualified tonight and to the guys who hosted the additional lobbies.
It's all very much appreciated.

This is very important. As far as I know, the time settings for qualifying isn't listed anywhere on this site, just the weather. It would have been nice to know beforehand so that I could have practiced and tuned for the appropriate settings.
For example, my session was set for daybreak. Because of the cooler air and track, I easily knocked half a second off of my best practice session. With proper tuning, I could have been able to take another half off. Also, mechanical damage was turned off for some odd reason, encouraging players to have there radiator closed off completely.

The rules state Mechanical Failures is going to be off to reduce peoples interest for random failures etc. and for those who were running their radiators at 0% as far as i know yes you wont get an engine blown but it still wears your engine out so by the 2nd half of the race the engine shouldn't perform as well and you should have killed a few of those horses. But for Q this is fine as people go back to the pits all the time.

There are no random failures in Project Cars; they were pulled a couple months before release. The only failure you can have is an engine failure caused by physical damage to the radiator, or overheating due to driver and tuning errors.
But, I understand that this isn't a rules discussion, nor do I want the rules to change this late. I just found it odd that something most of us wanted while competing in Forza, is turned off for this series.
In any case, the lobby settings for qualifying absolutely need to be posted on here for two reasons: to ensure that all of the qualifying sessions are identical, as well as allowing the competitors to practice and tune for the correct time and weather. (I like how weather is currently being done with the settings posted 24 hours before the event.)

Re: Round 1: Oulton Park Discussion Thread
Thdm lobby settings have their own standalone thread so they don't get lost in the mele of discussion
Only changes to what was stated in that original thread was Q time (I hadn't got round to editing the thread) and time of day. (Same)
