Snetterton Date reshuffle

As mentioned in the general thread, the Snetterton date for British GT has been brought forward to 23rd August.

This is to ensure that the championship finishes prior to the launch week of the much anticipated Forza Motorsport 6 title which will naturally see a lot of community members gravitate towards.
Some people have questioned the calendar changes in the past - to clarify these have been to account for the initial delay in launch of Project CARS and a second time to allow us ample organisation time in between races.
TORA always reserves the right to make any changes it deems necessary to ensure the best possible experience for the participants. These include rule and regulation changes and also calendar chanegs where we deem a change is required to avoid events that may not have been anticipated at the time the calendar was initially produced. Such is the case with the Forza 6 launch.

This means that the final round of the championship at Donington Park will now take place on 6th Sept.

Well, that's put an end to my Championship then!

After Brands Hatch I wont be taking part due to other commitments every other Sunday. I would've still taken part even after FM6 launch.

Do things really need to be changed because of FM6? I can understand the Le Mans weekend and other situations but a game launch?
Did TORA have a pause on FM5 when PCars came out?

We had all FM5 series wrapped up before PCars was set to launch. So, in a sense, yeah

Ok, I guess. It is the second (or third) time I won´t be able to finish a series due to date changes. Bummer

when does the qualifying happen for snetterton is it next monday

I've not been here long enough to even begin to give my 2 cents but surely if drivers can not give up an hour of their time on one Sunday after the launch of FM6 to finish a series then why bother racing at all? Especially as I highly doubt there will be a series being run short of a week of the game being released (single player can be paused for an hour)...

I know I missed the start of this series because I signed up too late (which was a bummer to say the least) but the fact that I planned around the calender for one so I could race, and by the looks of it at least one other driver has to drop out I fear that more will drop because of date changes than a game being released. Just seems odd to me that a game release would be cause for a reshuffle

That's correct. Q1 for Snetterton will be Monday 17th August

awesome i was going to have to miss the last 2 rounds and now i can make them both

I understand that the change will help some and not others depending on other commitments

I know FM6 will be a big draw but to change a series on another game?

Is this the death of PCars on TORA?

I know the game has been a bit tricky and changes have been needed to the regulations but this change sums up the series.
