could be worse, we could be doing a 24 again and running 5 dark stints

Haha, no doubt! Alls good Jay - just not a fan of running two night stints. It gets very sore and straining on the eyes which bothers me the most.

Just like the real thing, use the "in car" view to stream!

Are we really required to do 4 pit stops? If each stint is really only 1 hour and 45 minutes and you're not allowed to pit in the final 5 minutes, that means 4 full pit stops within 100 minutes, which kind of takes any type of tuning/strategy out of it, doesn't it? Even with aggressive tuning I'm getting over 25 minutes before needing to pit, which means I can tune as aggressively as I want and there's no penalty for doing so.. and consequently there's no benefit to tuning for distance..

Unfortunately, tuning for distance has minimal impact. The major factor is driving style for distance by fuel tank. Trust me, there has been insane and extensive testing done on this and although it ranges from car to car, again, it's down to the individual in question.

Having 4 pit stops does offer strategy. When you use them is going to matter for specific battles.

Needing to take 4 stops when you maybe can do 3 stops is just a matter of strategy when are you going to stop before or after you crash.

Having 4 stops does encourage strategy- You can choose to pit early in a stint to get into clean air or stay out to try and sneak ahead.

I realize there's still pit stop timing strategy, I had been referring to the tuning for pit stop strategy.

F4H Hakkinen himself has done a ridiculous amount of testing on this, and there is realistically no tuning for fuel mileage. If you do, you're so much slower than everyone else that it doesn't matter, and you still won't get enough to just flat out not do a stop. The mandatory 4 stops were also put in place to keep car variety- for instance, the Audi is completely unviable normally because of its lack of fuel mileage compared to say the Bentley.

It would be nice to get an invite for Qualifying.

As mentioned multiple times in the past, the 4 pit stop rule has been implemented to make sure the 458 and Audi don't get left behind. They can just make a 3 stop in a regular stint, but the final (full 2 hour) stint requires 4 stops for those two cars.

Yeah 1 thing that needs to be in place is the 4 stop. Cars massivly vary in Forza for fuel.

Got it. One note tho, the "final 2 hour stint" doesn't exist anymore due to the new lag out rule/formula.

Either way, I get it, I understand, 4 stops is necessary to encourage the use of all available cars... thank you everyone for the responses.

From what I understand, you guys can still race....? Only essentially got your qually time deleted, that's it.

At least you didn't do it in a stint or you would have lost all your stint distance. Better now than in the race

We've chosen to pull the car

So am I being super blind or is there no live timing yet? The race is in 3 and a half hours and I worry for those who are hosting stint 1 that they won't know who to invite and things...

For my team mates in the LMP castrol team.... Please get the race stints on in the race control. Pagani you know my stints.

I wouldn't worry too much lol. TJ is surely all over it

There is only 2 cars in the top 17 that are not a Corvette or a Jaguar..... make of this as you will.

Can I make a small suggestion? Can we have links to the docs next time, so if somebody sneezes they don't break in-forum? Can't get the qually doc to load for me at all.
