TORA iRacing ISCC - General Discussion

Noticed a concern about no TCS for this ISCC and want to open up discussion about it here.

To answer the question of have I tested a GTE/LMP1 yet and that would be a no, but thats why I wanted two tests before round one to iron things out so the actual championship is as enjoyable for everyone.

We had a small GT3 championship in the past that had no TCS and I thought it wouldn't be major difference thats why I went the hardcore setting. I'm more than happy to switch it round.

Ive also been asked about using a discord channel, I have never used it so would this be better than the iRacing game chatter?

Discord certainly works well (so long as you've got a 'push to talk' button mapped on your wheel, nothing worse than an open mic in-game!), the series I was involved with previously used it, and the teams I've raced with do as well.

As for TC, can't help you there I'm afraid!

That would be a huge help Bellmond as I cant use comms due to my hearing issues.

Will take a look, just download the prog and al take you number abd get it setup.

I dont use in game comms either

Regarding traction control I'd rather it on, for the proto cars it's required and for the gte cars it's realistic.
A discord would make a lot of sense too.

chaddy can we leave the HPD in at least til after the first few test sessions? i already know of a few people that wanted to sign up for it that havent yet.

Can teams run with different coloured mirrors or similar to help differentiate between the drivers? Thanks!

Yeah I'm happy with that, good idea too.

Sunday 9pm BST will be test 2 at Silverstone!

BUT I'm starting to wonder whether having LMP1 is such a good idea so would like to ask what would you all like to see...

1) stick with the current cars/classes
2) Move to P2 and GTE only
3) Have it GTE only
4) GTE/GT3

Open to pushing the championship back a week if we do change to allow more entries to come in.

From prior experience, you need at least 10 in each catagory to make multiclass racing worthwhile. There's always drop outs throughout the season, so a class with 5 entries isn't much fun. The Kia league I was involved with ran with 30ish most weeks so was split into two tiers, then we added the Jetta, and for the final season a third car class was added for the Mustang. It took a good while to build up to support the 3 cars...
