Goodbye Luc Alphand Corvette C6R #003

Team Luc Alphand Aventures is going through a bad period. After losing their title sponsor, after a serious crash during the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the serious motorbike accident suffered by Luc Alphand, the team has once again been a victim of bad luck. On Tuesday night, while the team was returning from Budapest and heading to Albi for the next round of the FFSA GT Championship, the team's truck was totally destroyed in a fire. The Corvette C6R, racing in both the FIA GT and the FFSA GT this season, as well as almost all the team's race material, was destroyed. Luckily the drivers were unhurt, although it took the firefighters over two hours to quench the flames.

Despite the fire, Luc Alphand Aventures will be present for the start of the Albi round of the FFSA French GT Championship, with its second Corvette C6R chassis. The drivers Soheil Ayari and Bruno Hernandez are currently leading the Championship.

History of Chassis #003 C6R: R.I.P

Sadly we can confirm that one of our C6Rs was lost in a recent fire and does not look to be repairable as of posting this. This C6R built by Pratt & Miller was the 3rd of 8 built and raced with the factory during the 2006 American Le Mans Series, with a brief appearance in "Jake" livery at the 2007 ALMS finale at Laguna Seca. This chassis in the hands of Luc Alphand competed in the Le Mans Series in Europe as well as this years FIA GT and FFSA GT Championships. The car recently was repaired at Pratt & Miller after a heavy chassis damaging crash at Le Mans.

ya...thats the one....two years before that...someone broke into their racing trailer and stole their cars and equipment...

you know what would have been ironic? If Oreca's trailer caught fire- I guess they'd be covered by Matmut

It is such a shame to see this, but I am surprised it was not a Gallardo that caught fire.

yes, that would make more sense- V10's are notorious for catching on fire: Caparo T1, anybody? lol

what did they have in there, ford pintos?

Nah i love ford, but in america the pintos liked to explode if remember correctly

but gas tanks and fuel lines werent exactly the most reinforced area in the cars...
