F1 Game.

Thought I'd kick things off with some exclusive news from a Friend who works for Mclaren.He says that the new F1 Title will be launched to coinside with the 2009 season ,so thats March.Obviously there has been no announcements yet from codemasters,but apparently there working flat out to get the game ready.We'll just have to wait and see.Personally I think it will be later in the year,but thats just my opinion.

It will have the GRID engine,but if you read the codies forum they say that it will be modified to make the game a true Sim.As far as I'm aware Lewis has signed a contract for a game license But I cant confirm its the official F1 Game.I'll do some more digging for that one

if hamilton gets a f1 game im not buying it cz it ll be lyk nascar 09 where jeff gordan tells you wat to do f1 is about a sport not just one cocky driver.

I think it will probs be a bit later as I reckon they wll ned time to get all the 09 cars properly designed with the correct liveries.
Nothing worse than an inaccurate sim that only PC gamers will be able to fix

whats with all the bad vibes against lewis, he is a great driver he has proved that time and time again, but the bloody media dicks wont leave him alone. You would think that the brit media would be behind him, but then what do they care all they are interested in is generating profit. vultures.

My mate at Mclaren,was under the impression that it was a separate title to the F1 game,probably a Karting or a GP2 game,but he wasn't sure.I've txt'd him for an update so I'll keep you posted.

I remember awhile ago that Lewis had supposedly signed a deal with EA games to go on the front cover of an upcoming F1 game. Like how they have footballers on fifa and tiger on his game and stuff. But since then I have never heard anything about the game since then. I read it on Gamespot, I'll have a look and see if I can find it again.

Back to the actual F1 game, I really really hope its good. I have been waiting for a good F1 game since Grand Prix 4. F1 CE on the PS3 never cut it for me, way too arcadey for me...in a bad way. I think that GRID was too arcadey, but I thought it was a really fun game.

And I always remember (back when F1 games were good...on the PS1 lol) getting F1 games for Xmas, so when the season was finished they had all the stats, official liverys and proper drivers. But nowadays it seems that games have to come out for the next season or the next year. eg Fifa 09, Tiger 09, NFL 09 etc, so I can see the next F1 game coming out before the 09 season starts even though it isn't EA who just want money money money lol.

im just really not a fan of him just h8 his driving tbh. im more a Vettel fan but a huge Franchitti/ Di Resta fan! Di Resta should take over from Kovy and he ll thrush hamilton easy!

Too true mate. F1 '97 was the last decent F1 game in my opinion.

na EA f1 2002 rocked but nothing beats GP4 or GP legends!!!

Nah man didn't like it at all. Everything felt really arcadey after 97 to me.

I think GRID was a very much under rated game.Yes it didn't have the depth of Forza and it was tweaked more towards the Arcade racer,but when I ran the GRID championship,we had some really good races.The graphics were also stunning especially the in car views .Donnington Park and Spa were spot on.If the F1 game has the graphics and is tweaked towards a sim with set ups and pit stops etc.. the game should be stunning.

F1 97 is still one of the best games ever! lol

I won the special edition of that game which was all Jordan inspired and I won a Yellow Jordan PS1 lol. I know I haven't played the game in years and years, but I don't want to cos it just wouldn't be the same but i still think its the best one lol.

I had EA F1 2000, and i thought it was shit. It was a prime example of EA jumping the gun all those years ago. They released the game at the start of the season, and then the Monza track changed to the new chicane, and the EA game still had the old one lol. Typical EA

Exactly... the cars in F1 2001 looked good mind.
The graphics weren't bad. Oh and lets not forget the trvesty that was F1 2002 which had a half finished Ferrari in it!!
What a load of rubbish, the best one of thosewas Cahallenge 99-02 only coz I had it on th PC and by the end hd abou 20 years of f1 on it. plus support series n stuff!

I have always wanted to play that game, but i never had a good pc to run it when it came out and now i can't find it anywhere lol. It always sounded good.

grand prix 5 will hopefully come soon but if it was it would have been the 2004 season so i guess it aint lol

Doesn't look like 5 will ever happen, really is a shame. GP4 was a letdown though, released with loads of bugs, no patches because Microprose shut down after release, apparently a nightmare to mod, no online multiplayer, and the minimum spec on the box was far far below what you realistically needed.

yeah i remember something in the news a while back about Hamilton signing with EA... image rights for £10mil.

Don't get me started on GP4. I thought it was the dogs, but i guess that was because i hadn't experienced the awesomeness of RFactor.

GP4 was an absolute whore to try and update, i srtuggled to get any mods on it.

When i did, the frame rate plunged down like a hookers knickers, and i was sat wishing i could go online.

And then i found RFactor.

I ultimatley recomend EVERYONE in this series to download the trial and then pay the £24 to get the full version.

So easy to install mods, and also easy to find them, there are hundreds of tracks and cars.

40-50 Player Online Races, and so much more real than Forza.

Even small stuff like Proper Safety Cars, and driving to the grid and then waiting for the race to start to Pit Limiters and Red Light Rules.

Still not convinced? 5 words.
