Re: V8 Camino Event - Qualifying
No problem, just don't want to miss someone out who wants to come racing.
Re: V8 Camino Event - Qualifying
I was well rusty on FM3 and set a time straight away as no one esle was around. We basically put the team together a couple mins before hand. I'm now in the 31's and hoped that being such a long race you would be scoring on race time/distance achieve, so it wouldn't matter which lobby you started in.
Can this be reconsidered please or for such a long race where finishing and being careful will play a MUCH larger part?
Cheers ears

yeah. bathurst is a clear 1000KM race. so it should be whoever gets to the race distance the quickest.

Re: V8 Camino Event - Qualifying
The trouble with scoring by distance/time is recording the data is difficult - you only get a few seconds at the end of the race to get all the info down or you miss it. This was considered when deciding the scoring format.
I did say to you on Tuesday that there were 3 other qualifying sessions coming up and that you didn't have to rush and set your times that night....
The race will work like LMS in terms of being number of laps completed in the 70mins, so it is still perfectly plausible to pass people in a lobby above you, escpecially if they have a safety car and you don't.

Re: V8 Camino Event - Qualifying
fair enough. Cheers for explanation.
I vote for no safety cars, keeps it fairer, makes people concentrate more, helps stop silly dives, and when safety cars bunch people back up theres more likely to be another safety cars as a result!!

We will still have safety cars as usual, but I will brief the lobby hosts before-hand and we'll only call safety cars for the more "severe" incidents (e.g. those that leave multiple cars limping back to the pits).

job done.Thats a very tricky track when your on the limit.Grazed the barrier a good few times in practice before qual but kept it clean to set my personal best time.

Re: V8 Camino Event - Qualifying
indeed, this track can grab your attention if you dont get it right. in my own practices, i seem to tag the guard rail ever so lightly (the part where the evironment drops off a cliff) at least once per session. i have also been trying with and without TCS, and i just need to confirm that qualy is in 2 15-minute session. Cuz if so, i might use both sessions to compare my tcs & non-tcs times/consistency

Re: V8 Camino Event - Qualifying
They are single 15min sessions - one on Saturday and one on Tuesday before the race. You can only run in one session.

Re: V8 Camino Event - Qualifying
Anyone who hasn't set a qualifying time for Tuesday's event race has another chance tonight at 10pm UK time. Also, if you haven't signed up to race on Tuesday yet, and would like to, there is still time to get in on the action, so what are you waiting for?!

Re: V8 Camino Event - Qualifying
Will there be another qualifying session on either Monday or Tuesday. Other then that, my fellow Jamie still needs to send me the car back.
Seeing how I am still waiting for it to be painted and so forth.

Re: V8 Camino Event - Qualifying
Tuesday at 7:30pm GMT SHARP is the final chance to qualify. We will not be waiting. As soon as the xbox clock strikes 7:30 we will start the qualifying session. I know that may sound harsh, but we have to get it done and the starting grid sorted ready to start the race at 8pm. If you miss qualifying you can still race, starting at the back of the grid.
