Should I buy the wireless adapter for the Xbox controller to play games on my PC or should I just spend the money on a wired Xbox controller?

on Amazon, the Wireless adaptor is $2 cheaper...
amazon discounted 'wired' controller is currently @ $30
(on Amazon) wireless controller adaptor is @ $28

I know the cost isn't that much different. I'm talking about performance of the controller. Does the wireless adapter keep its signal well?

i wouldnt know the performance of either, as i have a Logitech game controller for my PC (mainly for the SNES emulator i got)
