Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Seems "Drivatar" may also be back for AI training. Hope so, as that was a great feature in FM1.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Looking really good so far.
I wonder what all of these unannounced features are.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Some seem to think Autocross will be back. I think there's more to the Top Gear link than we have heard about so far.
Could be something in this different day light aspect but I guess we will find out soon...

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
How did Autocross work in Forza 1?
We have yet to see if the time of day can be adjusted, and wither or not night racing is back.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
As shown in the video, where there's multiple races at a venue in one 'day' i.e you enter a race series taking place at one track, it sounds as if the ambient lighting will change to account for time difference

There were a number of crossover circuits if I remember rightly, like rally special stages. Though FM1 and GT3 are a bit of a blur to me these days, so that could have been GT3....
Autocross is mentioned on the official site if you read all the blurb. As is car soccer.

Yeah, but will we be able to actually select a particular time of day? And does the lighting change as time goes on?
Will the track be in a different condition at different times of day?
Having different track conditions would change the way qualifying and the race are perceived.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
If it's like Shift 2, it'd merely be a cosmetic change. Although it affects your vision/perception of the track, it doesn't physically change the track conditions in terms of things like track temperature.

What a smooth operator Dan is. That bit where he says Auction House while talking, and the voice activation picks it up and loads the Auction House

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Super impressed by the walkthrough video - hats off to Turn 10 for listening to the community and fixing what was wrong with Forza 3. In many ways it's like they've gone back to the roots of Forza 1, which introduced car clubs, autocross, etc and combined those ideas with the 60fps HD graphics and painting, storefront and auction house from Forza 3 - should be an absolute winner, can't wait!

I'll laugh at the first person who says "it's unrealistic". They've plugged the raw data received from Pirelli directly into the engine unchanged. How can it not be realistic?
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
lol, some 1 who drives to work on ice tyres
Racing is life, anything before or after is just waiting
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
that all depends on the engine surely, which I'm sure isn't "realistic" at least not on the Xbox 360 platform at 60 fps. It can't be all that realistic as the processing power just plain isn't available.
More realistic than FM3, yeah sure.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Of course, the player/commenter also has to be realistic....in their expectations!
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
cool, so you won't laugh at the first person to say it's unrealistic then!

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
The physics engine runs at 360Hz (360fps), graphics at 60fps, so plenty of processing going on there lol
Guest- Guest
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
i didn't say the engine runs at 60 fps! lol. Just pointing out that at 60 fps gaming on the xbox 360 takes up a lot of xbox 360 resource, of which not enough is left over to get close to current PC gaming tire simulation, not to mention handling physics in general.
