[E4] - RESULTS- Race of the United States - RESULTS

Well, an eventful night to say the least. Two new entries in Gary and Bob, putting an extra Honda and SEAT on the grid respectively.

In Qualifying, Bob impressed straight away, putting it on the outside of the front row for the Sprint race with Nick with myself and Magic on row 2. Row 3 had the underdogs: Ruairidh and Adrian. And.. for the first time this season, we had a FOURTH ROW! Thats right! A returning Jeff and a newcomer, Gary took up the positions on Row 4. So here is how qualifying looked:


Race 1 had a frankly epic battle between Nick and Bob, and it resulted in the first non-Chevrolet victory of the season, and only the second time that Nick has been beaten so far this season. You have to go as far back as Zandvoort to find the last time that happened.


Race 2 saw the reverse grid take shape. And it caused mega mayhem right at the start, as Jeff was pitched into a spin infront of the whole pack by going on the gravel and coming across the Volvo of Ruairidh. Both Nick and Bob made the most of their starts and got right up front. Me and Magic were in the top two however, and some very questionable driving on both parts (but mostly Magic I protest!) let Nick and Bob back through to the front.. And Nick went on to fend off Bob by using some clever pit strategy and conserving his tyres.

Nick now has a massive 11 point lead. Meanwhile Slim gets jumped by Adrian and Ruairidh!

If you want some extra speed, i would advise that I personally, only brake for four corners on the track:

Andretti Hairpin (lets just say its Turn 1 for the purposes of this, i'm not having an argument)
Turn 4
The Corkscrew
the final turn

My best lap is a 1.32.4

i'll be on the xbox at about 7:15 and if no one has done already i'll set up a practice lobby, and normally when you follow people and are under pressure with other drivers around you can go a lot quicker! Just ask Nicky i've made him go a lot quicker on Forza and Race Pro by him just racing me!

Forza yes. I suck at it.

But don't be going taking the credit for my speed on Race Pro.

I'm actually handy at Race Pro.

I havent touched the game since I started this championship, and will probably not bother doing the 2.4 because of it.

I wasn't! I know you're quick on Race Pro, i was just saying that even on Race Pro when you're chasing someone you're able to find more speed, i wasn't doubting your speed on Race Pro at all!

Some of Magic's driving will definitely be up for investigation.

But rather than me deciding, as I was on the receiving end of it, i'l post a video here and let all of you decide.

I am not happy with his driving at all.

I enjoyed it tonight, apart from being turned round at the start of the second race, but hey ho, its not like i'd of held second for long.....

I was definitely on for my first race victory.....

I almost had an personal accident when I saw you spinning infront of the pack!

i was miles off the pace but enjoyed racing it again.For the next round i might have to try tune the car as the default tune i dont think was great.

Sorry I didn't make it, we have the board coming into work tomorrow to have a look around and I ended up doing a few hours overtime to try and get everything sorted for the morning. Long day tomorrow as well no doubt. By the time I got home, had dinner and a shower it was around 9.30.

Hopefully I'll be at the last 2 races, though I doubt I will be around for season 2. I've enjoyed this series more than any other I have done.

If I'm not around for season 2, it's more than likely you won't see me racing again until at least FM4...and with car clubs back in, I doubt I will be doing much series racing if any at all. Finally I can go back to hotlapping, like the good old FM1 days.

@Gary I was using the default tune, I don't dare touch the setup in Race Pro.

Damn, I've missed a load of these. When is the next one?

Gary, don't try and tune the cars on Race Pro it's a big ball ache and doesn't always pay off, it's better to learn the tracks as well as you can and find the best line around the track that makes up the most time of all on Race Pro!

I'm really bad with grammar. Those Qualifying/Race descriptions are just unreadable.
