TORA TCC Race Night Poll

I just want to get a feel from the community about this. With Virtual Motorsport running their own spec series on the same Tusday nights as we will be I was wondering, in fairness to both groups and to allow as many racer to run in both series as possible, if you guys would be againts running the TCC on a Wednesday night?

We have always ran the TCC on a Tuesday and it, personally, feels wrong to be racing in it on a Wednesday. This is more of a viewpoint rather than making a change. I have no problems keeping the series as it is and just running alongside VM, but I would like to be able to at least allow all members to be able to take part in both series if they wish.

Please vote and comment to give me an idea as to how you feel about this. If we are happy to change then the first round will be delayed by a day. If not, we can just keep it as it is.

I'm not being bitter here or anything but I'd say that we should keep our touring car championship to Tuesday nights. Reason being that it should be every individuals choice to either race with us or another forum. To my mind, you should just stick to one forum. I don't understand the logic of why some people have joined more than one forum to race. If they don't decide to race because another forum is running another event, tough! Just stick to racing in one environment and not twenty hundred million other online racing forums/communities.

Dan the thing is some TORA members me included want to race out VM and members there want to race in the TCC we want more ppl to race so I would recomend we chnage the night to Wednesday or Thursday

I don't know if it's just me but I don't see the point in racing with more than one forum. Besides, whats so special about this new Virtual Motorsport site anyway? I haven't bothered looking (don't really want to if I'm honest) because I know that this is the only forum I'm staying putt by racing here!

Fair enough Dan but lets just say the fastest guys on Forza race with guys from VM

You guys have had this conversation in years past over very similar things. Dan's point of view is a little odd, but he is entitled to it! I race at a couple of sites, because they all offer something a little different. No one place has all of the types of racing or even all of the formats for races. Some places specialize in "sim" racing, others, replicating racing, others just getting together and bangin' around. I wouldn't move the date unless you end up having no one racing, which you have never had that issue in the past. The GP2 series if fun, but your guys's TCC is way better. Just my opinion.

Thanks Gashi, it's good to have your input. Same goes for everyone. I was just looking to see how people felt about this in general. My thought behind it is to give both sites the chance to run with maximum numbers. Obviously, we're not competing with VM but I can understand why teams like VVV, EZT and GLR may be inclined to race with each other over at VM as they all know what to expect from ChilledHeat.

It's all very cliquey if you ask me.

Works both ways, life goes on. I'd race both if they were a few hours apart, but like you guys are saying it comes down to who you race with more often when there is a schedule conflict.

I'm saying tues simply because I've already made sure I'm not at work tues evenings. Weds I won't be able to take part.

Why do you see my point of view as odd? Just because I think that people should stick to one forum when it comes to racing. I just don't see why TORA should change the days when we run the touring car championship just because certain individuals decide not to race in a TORA event and participate in another forums series or race instead.
If we want to participate in other series, why don't you just simply create other race series? If you think about it, we've had two GT series (Winter and Summer GT's), two touring car championships (NGTC with 4wd cars and TCC) etc. Why don't we just simply create other championships? That way, you have a great variety of championships and you won't need to then jump from one environment to another.

Richy, Duncan WHY should TORA change its date and not VM??? Seems very harsh that you guys dont ask them to change. We are in our 6th Season of TCC where im sure its been on a tuesday night since at least season 2.

feels like if this did change to a Wedesday, your screwing old members over for new (faster) guys such as GLR, VVV etc

remember about our "teams" who have been here since good knows how long and stayed! M&M, THR, SBR, XTi, etc

I voted Tuesday because for the fact that since I joined TORA, the TCC has always been on a Tuesday and I think it'd be weird to move it, even though my work schedule conflicts and only made 1 apperance since I joined (that was the TCC when I ran the Taco Bell Ford Fusion @ Sebring Short last season right?)

It was a idea beacuse we dont want to clash with VM we want both sites to have big grids any way look every 1 has their opinion so there should be no reason to get defensive.

How is it harsh it was an idea but forward to the community we could of just told you this is what we are doing but we didnt beacuse we talk to our community and have feed back.

Most of us American guys at GLR and EZT can't race just based on the time slot alone, 3pm EST on a week day is not good.

As I said Chaddy, I am looking for opinions. I'm not declaring that we are changing, I just wanted to get a feel for it. I do realize that all of the people who have signed up currently are there because they are able to race with TORA on a Tuesday night. I would feel bad if I switched in the hope that some others would race with us. It would probably be meaningless anyway, we may not get any increase in numbers and in fact we would lose numbers if people could only make the Tuesday. Like Simon and yourself said, you guys can only make Tuesday due to work. that may be the reason people have always liked the fact we have raced on a Tuesday.

Please guys, don't take this so personally. I even said in my post I wouldn't feel right having it changed. We are entitled to our own opinions and I run TORA to make sure we give people something that they enjoy. I am not going to start screwing people over just to maybe get someone with VVV or EZT infront of their names into the series. I will always make sure TORA runs primarily so that people can enjoy themselves. I try to look out for the long standing TORA members first but we also have to remember that there are thousdands of others out there racing and I don't see the harm in trying to appeal to others as well.

Another point I would like to bring up is the possibility of running an American lobby. As Facepalmer said we can't cater for the guys over in the US with our TCC because we run it mid week. I would like to start up an American series that runs alongside the Euro one, but I would only do it if the numbers coudl at least fill one lobby.

Dan I thought it was odd because I would want to get all I could out of my hobby. Limiting yourself to only one website simply limits your experience. It is like someone saying they will only eat fast food at McDonalds. Not really the all encompasing fast food resteraunt, but they do have a lot on their menu. Not directly relating TORA to McDonalds, but you should be able to get the idea. I wasn't trying to insult you, if I did, I am truly sorry.

I'd be totally on board with having an American lobby for the TCC.

As it is clear that the community as a whole does not want to change from our usual Tin Top Tuesday slot we will continue to do what we do best. TCC will remain on a Tuesday night.
