TORA NATCC Meeting 4 - Rounds 7 & 8 - Sedona Club Reverse - April 17th 2012 - 9pm EST
Sedona Club Reverse
April 17th 2012 - 9pm EST
*Rule updates below*
PLEASE NOTE!! - Due to the massive amount of entrants we have had, you MUST post "IN" if you wish to take part in qualifying. This will be open until 8:30pm EST on the night of the race, as we will then close entries to qualifying. Once qualifying is underway, you must post in this thread if you wish to join the field at the end of the grid. This will be open until 9:15pm EST for race 1 late entries, and 10:00pm EST for late entrants to race 2.
QUALIFYING - 9:00pm BST
Event qualifying will begin at 9pm. Apart from if someone has already attempted to join a lobby but had connection issues, there are no exceptions to this start time.
Settings
-Qualifying will consist of 4 flying laps (lap counter will be set to 6 laps)
-Collisions will be forced off
-Damage will be set to Limited damage
-There will be a 5 second roll off delay
-The Grid will be set to Random
-Once you complete all 4 flying laps you will meet in the first corner so that the lobby marshals can take down your qualifying time and conduct scrutineering if required.
-Times will then be uploaded to the Live Timing application by the chief marshal of the meeting
-Clean laps take preference over Dirty laps. A slower clean lap will qualify in front of a faster Dirty lap.
Race - Grid will be the results of the qualifying session. All drivers with "clean" laps in qualifying will be before all drivers who set "dirty" laps. Races will take pace over a pre-determined amount of laps. Please see the Season Calendar for details.
*Due to the issues experienced at the last round and to reduce the number of times we need to restart lobbies all NATCC meetings will now begin under a rolling start for **Race One Only**. Race Two will begin with a standing start, where the lobby points from Race One will be reversed. Rolling start speed is 60mph*
There will be two races in an evening, and all will last around 20 minutes.
Race One will form up on the grid in the order in which the competitors qualified.
Race Two will form up on the grid in reverse order from race one's finishing positions.
There will be no mandatory pit stops during the races.
RULES REMINDER
Track Limits
The track limits are determined by the solid painted lines (tarmac) either side of the track. At all times, two wheels must remain on this part of the circuit, unless of an occurrence where it is near to impossible to keep two wheels on the track, like avoiding a collision. During a race meeting, each time the track limits are not adhered to, a warning will be given. Each driver are allowed five warnings of all four wheels leaving the track via the inside of a corner, at any part of the circuit. If a sixth and then subsequent "corner cutting" occurrences happen within a race meeting, then that driver will lose a finishing position for each corner cut. Again, if a corner is cut to avoid a collision, this would not be given a warning.
The track limits must be adhered to in the event of gaining an advantage whilst having an on-track battle. If a driver overtakes a driver by getting all four wheels off the track, the driver must give that position back before they may continue the race. If the driver which was overtaken backs off heavily either through incident or "mechanical" failure, then the position will not need to be given back.
Settings
- Collisions during all races will be on, and set with Limited Damage. Driving Line and Normal/Simulation Steering are the only allowed driving aids that may be used. TCS, ABS, STM, Auto-brake and Auto-gears are prohibited. Manual gears must be used but it is up to the competitor if they wish to use the clutch or not.
- The race will be set to a pre-determined amount of laps which the lobby host will make aware to the competitors in the lobby.
Race Etiquette
-Touring Car racing is defined as non-contact but a certain level of door rubbing and panel bashing is inevitable. With Limited damage on please take care when racing with each other so you do not ruin other people's races as well as your own. If you are found to be causing incidents that were avoidable then action will be taken by the stewards.
1st offense- Warning
2nd offense- One lap penalty that will be taken from drivers finishing distance.
3rd offense- Exclusion from the race.

Great racing everyone!
Congrats to Rollin on the wins.
Kinda frustrated with myself. Managed to grab the pole and set the fastest official lap times for both races but too many mistakes on my part got me the double deuce finishes. That sticky grass was annoying as hell. I am sure my teammate AMR Garage can attest to that.
How I manages to get around Louis, Stonewall, and AMR Garage unscathed in race 2 is still beyond me. That better win the award for pass of the century.

Re: TORA NATCC Meeting 4 - Rounds 7 & 8 - Sedona Club Reverse - April 17th 2012 - 9pm EST
Cheers to all who showed up tonight! Had a fast Cobalt tonight, when I could keep it off the grass...
I'll take a 1:16.6, that made me happy.
Got nailed by the sticky grass lap 1 of both races, stupid moves by me both times. Enjoyed racing with Dewey midway through race 1, sorry about the bump, notice I did let you back by though, that's the way it should be (self policed).
Managed to flip her in Q, still not sure what the deal was with the brakes on my car tonight, I'm thinking the bias may have been too front heavy.
Any-who, thanks guys for your support, and thank you Connor and Louis for your help!

Have I mentioned I love the Sedona circuits? Last night was good racing. Qualified 2nd with a 16.2, but @ the start Bruno ran wide at the slow sweeper and let me by, and I did as best as I could to stay ahead. Even managed 15's in both races, which was an added bonus for myself, as I did little to no testing for this meeting. I tried out the tune I built for Infineon, and she felt real good and decided to use it again. Race 2 was quite interesting @ the kink. I think I was @ one point almost going in there 3 wide, and how I didn't come away witth more damage than I did was surprising (3% front, 9% sides after all was said and done). Worked my back back to the front, and set sail.
I put both replays up on my SF last night. On to the next race!

Had a lot of fun last night. Even though I finished last and next to last I still had 2 top ten finishes LOL. No problem Bullet its just racing. Enjoyed running with you to. Cobalt was good through the corners but had absolutely no acceleration. I could gain on cars in the corners but they would walk away on the straights. Very annoying. I know part of it is me, but tuning definitely played a part in this to. Somebody want to gift me a tune so I can see if its ALL me? Bruno, the tune you sent me gave me around a half second. Thanks again....

Dewey I can't tune this FWD tuner cars worth a lick, so I just toss in whatever tune Bruno sends me, sometimes I like'em, sometimes I don't
Last night's tune was fast for sure, but the damn brakes kept slinging me off the track. I suppose that's what I get for not turning a single lap before qualifying.
With Bruno's okay I will gladly share all the tunes he has/does send my way.

I am okay with it. You are both brave men for doing so as I am just making it up as I go.
The Cobalt is something that I both like and dislike. It is a fun car to drive and it looks great with Buckeye's TicTac livery, however, it is a bit of a pig as it is just under the maximum weight restriction and has relatively low hp for its weight. I have tried different builds, but, I have yet to see better lap times with those different builds.

I agree on all counts My fault for picking the damn car in the first place

I would be running the Cobalt no matter what. Because of the N24 and the NATCC I am now at affinity level 48 for Chevrolet because of that Cobalt.
