TORA TCC Meeting 11 -- Rounds 21 & 22 - Nurburgring Short - 24th July 2012

Gutted I couldn't make it now, would of been comfortably in Lobby A bar a disasterous qually. Missed out on some valuable team points

Had a great race with Vapor in race 1, 12 laps on his rear bumper and just hadn't got enough straight line speed to get alongside and try a move, great defence Vapor!

Haha, you heard the 'team strategy orders' then "lets work together Haburi and catch these guys in front"... slipstreamed each other for the next few laps to catch the battle for 2nd place and then it was a 5 car battle for the final few laps. Got alongside Dellorto on the back straight on the final lap and just managed to slide the car into the chicance, between the wall and Dellorto to take 4th.

One round to go... and only a 29 point lead of VtecTorque, still all to play for!

Cheers - just a shame we couldn't keep hold of the Top 3 places that we (S2M) held for so long in Race 2

To be fair though the actual finishing order of S2M, CQR, S2M, CQR, S2M, CQR was impressive

I sure did - it was hardly what you could call subtle

I also giggled at the strained sound of your voice when you announced "Argh - I just can't find a way through" at one point............it's good to hear even the Championship leader struggles at some point

Yeah I saw that how we all finished in alternating team positions, couldn't really ask for a closer battle than that.

Yeah it wasn't meant to be subtle, it was a 'we're coming to get you guys' message

We knew the C'eed was just a little off the pace around here - it's been so strong everywhere else it was always going to happen at some point, so I just wanted to manage the gap to Ryan and not give away too many points! But then he found a way through into 2nd and I was still back in 6th, so it was vital to find a way past Haburi (really hard in the same car!) and Dellorto and salvage another 4th. So it was a good race, not just in the actual on-track racing, but also the tactics and strategy that was going on within the race too

I must admit it did put me on edge a bit

In the early stages I had the comfort of a few hundred feet gap and 3 team-mates acting as rear gunners. I then started getting the odd lag freeze which lost me up to 200ft each time.

Then the sudden sight of Ryan in the Top 4 combined with your "let's get 'em" war cry did nothing for my nerves

Thankfully, I had plenty of gap to absorb the odd mistake before composing myself to set my fastest ever clean lap on the last lap!!

Just a damn shame I'm missing the last round

Just thought I'd say that if another car is close behind you, don't take unusal/funny lines through corners, especially tight ones.

I kinda got squashed up against the wall at Turn 4 in Race 2 because Racing Dk took a wide entrance and then swung straight back at the apex when my car had already gotten up his inside, not gonna instigate an SI over it because it's pretty much the end of the season and it seemed more that he didn't see me, rather than it being malicious.

Now bring on Silverstone!
