LOL... here's what happened there: I built four base tunes to start with, and sent those four to those who supported the IROC 79 Series for their analysis. When I received zero feedback as of Wed night, I decided to go with my gut feeling as to the balance of power to grip, as I put a nine day deadline on myself to post the rules and such, as I wanted the series to start a week after Thanksgiving in order to be done before the Christmas/New Year's week.
I should have started the build/tune/test procedure a week or few earlier than I did, as I saw the "window of opportunity" on my calendar a couple weeks back. In the end, it is what it is, and all participants have the same car to work with... just as the 79 Camaro was.

i will be hosting a lobby in about half an hour to an hour for anyone who wants to turn over some laps
Re: IROC 74 Series Discussion and Feedback - Rd 4 Poll Added
I've been thinking that maybe all assists off + drag slicks may be overkill. So, as a compomise, Drag Slicks are out. Simply swap them with race tires on the tune I sent. I will adjust the rules and PI, as well as post/send correct tune over the weekend.
Main reason for the change is that the car may have become too difficult to drive and that would spread out the field a tad too much. With the standard race tires, expect closer racing than was in the IROC 79 Series, as the Porsche's lower power and lighter package allows for a bit grippier more comfortable feel.

yea, i was testing at sedona club, and going down the main straight n into our of the first chicane braking for the second, you just go straight ahead, even with assists, good choice

Rather have drags Mikey, if round 1 is a wash with crashes then move to race tyres, we have to try it.

Sorry Mikey. I did intend to test them out, I just didn't quite have the time.
Before you completely get rid of the drag tires, why not have a preseason/exhibition practice/race sometime this weekend to see how things work with the drag tires.

Re: IROC 74 Series Discussion and Feedback - Rd 4 Poll Added
I'm not sure if I will have much time over the weekend. My secision was made for me by some who were interested in the series then said they weren't when they heard the tire choice.
So I tried the same build with race tires, and feel that the race tires will produce much closer races. The Camaro had so little grip that mistakes would spread the field rather quickly, and with drag tires I felt the same would happen with the Porsches.
So, in the interest of close competition and hopefully a full race lobby, I made the decision to switch.

I hope everyone enjoyed the races tonight. I know I did. Very happy to see such a good turnout, both in series entries as well as in tonight's races.
Also rather relieved to see that there were no rollovers in tonight's races, as there were some in the practice lobbies that were run postrace, just as there have been in testing. Gotta remember one of the first things they teach at the Skip Barber Racing School: those curbs are there to keep you away from the infield and should be respected as such.
Congrats to FranchittiFan on his sweep of Round 1, and thanks to all who showed up to race.

I've got a predicament: I will be away from the family XBox, the one with the Porsche DLC, after the 15th. Which leaves me three options, which I will let you the participants to decide:
1) Run the last two races on the 15th as a double header.
2) Postpone the last race until after New Years.
3) Miss the last race and see if I can get someone to host it for me.
