Was watching RTR camera and you could see it billowing into the circuit. I didn't realise what it was when the Bus Stop started to disappear. Assumed it was BBQ's or something.
We ge that for Britcar from time to time, though last two years have been largely unaffected. 2007 it was so bad they halted the race and waited for dawn. Came close to needing that in 08 too.

Not watched everything, but I've loved watching this!! I thought motors tv was [Censored] until I joined TORA, in the last 6 months I have realised just how much is on there!

Was kind of hoping somebody other than one of the BMW cars was gonna win, but nevermind!

How that car's legal is a mystery.

Other than Grand Am failing to equalize the BMW to the rest of the DPs, it was a really good race. The GT battle made up for the GanASSi DP rout. R8s, 358s and 911s going at it for the whole distance, nothing to complain about there.

But when 1 team has a ten car length jump on the field every time the DPs hit the trioval, it is a sign that GA shoulda done something beforehand. Heck, I was saying that GA should bring in the 01 and 02 for a smaller restrictor plate about 4 hours into the race, as it was obvious then.

GT battle was good!! Well done to Audi, just a shame it wasn't the APR which finished 2nd, was rooting for the APR Stippler car all race!

make what you will about Ganassi teams dominating, they work hard and it shows.

now....GX was a joke. half of the cars DNF'd and the distance between 1st and 2md was NINE laps

Ganassi had a HP advantage, the other teams were rather vocal at the test, and Grand Am did nothing about it. Hard work? As if all the other teams did nothing in preparation. Ganassi just exploited the lack of parity to their advantage, nothing more nothing less. It was obvious every time they hit the straightaways.

And it also showed in their lap times. Pruett would run a 1:41 while Ambrose would run a 1:42 at one point.

I am relitivly new to Grand-AM watched a little bit last season and alot of the 24hr this year and to behonest
DP was a litteral joke. The BMW DP cars were maybe 10mph diffrent on the banking than other DP's. Yet they still have better cornering abilities?

I got the feeling that the GA orginisers leaned the rules to favour them slightly due to profits? Like Lemans with Audi? and F1 with Red bull? Without the big teams= No racing.

As I said I am new to Grand-AM so I could be sooo wrong.

Last year BMW was at a disadvantage, and Chevrolet had reliability issues that handed the win to Ford by default. I guess Grand Am let BMW have this one to make up for it. Other than the BMWs, I would say that they did get the other two "right", too bad they can't seem to get all three at the same time.

No it won't. Grand-Am's always prided itself on its ability to match cars within a class. ALMS lets them all be whatever they are.

People seem to forget about new Rules and regs for LMP and GTE for 2014.
Both series will be changing so its going to be a whole new format.

Anyone know what the deal with the GX Caymans are? Are they Hybrid? cuz I doubt that they are diesels like the Mazdas

Not diesel nor hybrid. Just a Cayman with a 911 engine stuffed in. I don't pretend to understand the reasoning.

It's kind of a loophole, same as the Lotus Evoras would have been under. They were "technology OR cars otherwise not applicable to the existing GT class."

They reminded me of the decrepit old Saleen S7R that won the GT1 class at Le Mans a couple years ago because the rest of the class was FIA GT1 sprint-built cars. The Caymans were Frankensteined from another series, just rebuilt to Grand-Am spec. Honestly, I'm surprised no one tried to put a wing and a splitter on an old/aging Continental Tire series car.
