Circuit of Wales in development
£280m going into it. The track layout looks awesome and the elevation changes look pretty dramatic too!

Re: Circuit of Wales in development
The raised thing is a dramatic representation of the elevation changes... They're not the actual scale, it would be impossible otherwise
It does look like it goes up a hill and back down again though, the mid section has some interesting elevation changes through the corners

So they built Mt Panorama in Wales? Which will include a sheep running on the track?

Re: Circuit of Wales in development
Depends how safe it is. Will it potentially be able to hold Formula 1 or Le Mans races? Or will this just be another British GT & BTCC track?
I don't see it being as revolutionary as COTA.

There's nothing unsafe about it Apart from possible roaming sheep
Re: Circuit of Wales in development
What I mean Stan is that, for example, Brands Hatch isn't deemed as safe enough to a host a Formula 1 race. Whereas Silverstone and Donington are. Its to do with the run off area's, Marshall locations & Air ambulance etc.

I think it'll be WSBK poss Moto GP but I doubt you'll see more than BTCC and Brit GT there, perhaps WTCC?
That area of wales desperately needs this kind of investment so good news

Smashed my astronaut childhood thank you very much!
It says on the BBC article that the track will not host Formula 1 although it looks very will like it could hold a MotoGP and be sure to add it to the BTCC calender in the future.

The real question is which direction does it go in?

If you look for the Assen-esque final chicane, you'll soon see which direction it goes in .
You know me, I like my racing, but I'm not keen on this.
Simply because there's money that could easily be put into something a bit more vital than 2 years of Moto GP (You may ignore the man speaking in tongues at the beginning.):
If this tidal lagoon doesnt happen because of this joke they're putting slap bang in the middle of sheepshagger territory, I'm defecting.

If the pathway is wider and twistier, then maybe it could be used for motor racing.

That lagoon/dam looks pretty spectacullar. Not an eye-sore and quite cool although I suppose it mightn't create as many jobs as the Circuit (which is estimated around 6,000) Would be a nice oppurtunity for Companys and Residents to feel a little for Green
Re: Circuit of Wales in development
The lagoon dam thing could be a non-banked NASCAR circuit?

The run-off areas aren't that big really :/ Particularly that Suzuka-S sectionKilroy8 wrote:What I mean Stan is that, for example, Brands Hatch isn't deemed as safe enough to a host a Formula 1 race.
