Bizarre Creations have been acquired by Activision Blizzard and are working on a James Bond racing game for 2010.

MS owns PGR so maybe after T10 has done Forza 3???

This is a NFS game by name only and has a brand new dev team, Slightly Mad Studios.

I've heard rumours that Turn 10 is currently working on PGR5...rather than Forza 3

I doubt it though, i've also heard rumours that the PGR IP is now long gone

Still looks like a complete EA rip of Grid...and given the NFS name lately that can't be a good thing...

the new dev should be given a chance, lets get back to the good old days of NFS: Underground !

Slightly Mad Studios are actualy made up from the 'originial' SIMBIN team that made GTR, GTL and GTR2. DEFINETALY one to watch

Slightly Mad Studios, the creators of GTR2 and GTL, add that in with EA, who have massive resources and bank balance and you get Need For Speed Shift.

Now, dont let the NFS name put you off... This is the most excting racing sim of the year, forget about RACE Pro, this has the ability to be amazing. Lets have a look at the factors, both from what EA and SMS have said, and what we can see so far.

-Hghly detailed in-car camera, complete with 'gasps' from driver.
-Real and Fictional Circuits (including brands hatch)
-aiming towards PC levels of simulation, according to SMS, and they know what they are talking about!
-Forza style Visual and Performance customisation!!!
-Damage modeling
-G-forces effect both player and AI (??)

Basicaly, its like elements of GRID, Gran Turismo and Forza have been rolled into one, and we should *hopefully* have the console racings messiah.

Its EA. Its NFS. It'll be pants...but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now, mainly due to the amazing looking trailer

the proper GTR2 dev team, what can go wrong? They have stated its aimed at above-forza standards Im sure they know what they are talking about.

As I said, I'll believe it when I see it

But they said all those nice things about Race Pro aswell when it was announced

A trustworthy ickle bird told me quite a while ago to watch out for this one - I laughed and said "your joking right - a NFS game that's actually good?"

Oh yes was the answer. He says it will ween me off Forza2!!!

He was right about how crap race pro was gonna be, so I recon I'll be believing him about Shift!

Im majorly hoping it has a Livery Creator, if it does, and its got great handing and some good circuits, it'l be a candidate for replacing Forza 2 in our series here

Where was this thread before? Can't believe i missed it! Im a big NFS fan and although ProStreet and Undercover could have been better they are still both half decent at times. I saw the trailer for this a few weeks ago and thought it looked amazing. A big difference from the usual though. Can't wait for it to come out.
