We have to be as professional and calm mannered when many of us had f/t jobs, families and lives away from here.
We are all volunteers and it is still abundantly clear that some members of this community choose to forget this vital point. We provide this environment to race for OUR collective benefit and because we are passionate about motorsport.

The actions of a few last night puts undue pressure on those trying to achieve the above. There are no prizes for this series therefore isn't the main goal to have fun and challenge ourselves against the best?
How is it I can be sat in Lobby D having a ding dong battle with DOR and others and having a great time while in other lobbies these sorts of squabbles occur?
As I stated before, no one in this community and environment benefits from the actions taken last night. Data is lost, reputations become tarnished and a decent night of racing is essentially ruined because some people think it'll be 'hilarious' to leave only 4 GT3s in A Lobby.

Time to move on, be constructive and helpful and make Brands and Mugello the best they can be.

I've gotta say I forgot what lobby we were in mate ourbattle raged right from the start untill I made a mistake but came right back at you after the pit stop ....truly awesome performance and made even more intense when DOR keithn222 appeared with 2 laps to go and nearly had us both at the top of en rouge.
Great stuff and to me this is what it's all about.

MRT ANM 79 showing as finishing second on results image I've seen plus accurate on the sheet.
I've personally checked the table and we're accurate so not sure who is missing. We have two DNF from GT3 and some DNS from GT4 all are accounted for so far as I can see.

MNR Nightlocke wrote:
Multiple people set up the lobby, and even set it up following the advice that you and others gave, the same issue still persisted. What baffles me is the fact that it wasn't an issue that even affected you.
I gave no advice what so ever and the effects of the issue from the resulting confusion was felt by all.
MNR Nightlocke wrote:
You started to get hostile towards the fact the race didn't start when it was maybe 9 PM BST. I'm not sure if you have ever raced on here before, but that is par for the course.
Hostile? I barely said a word except for two points, one at about 21:20 where I said "Can we please get this race started, I'm starting to get bored just sat here" at this point the lobby had been gathered for nearly half an hour. Yes I have raced on TORA before, never have I had such a terrible experience.
MNR Nightlocke wrote:
As lobby hosts, the last thing we need is you all yelling at and berating us when we are simply trying to to keep the lobby open to race, especially when we find out so last second like that. I can fully understand that you were frustrated, and you along with everyone else have every right to be.
Again I barely said a word to you and if there are last minute issues out of your control, I would not blame you for that.
MNR Nightlocke wrote:
However, the attitude you carried with you yesterday was completely inappropriate.
My attitude? What planet are you on? Do not mistake me, which I think you have, for EVR Huracan who was the one grief and having a go at you constantly.
MNR Nightlocke wrote:
You and your team mate decided to back out because you didn't want to run a race with an issue that didn't affect you. Even with my DC, there were still others in the lobby capable of handling the results without issue.
We both backed out because we had been waiting well over an our after qualy had finished to have a 2nd failed start.

Your DC after the 1st failed start, host past to someone, who if I remember right, had no idea what they where doing. Not there fault Ofcourse, people tried to help him but that was proving to be more confusing. So You said "Would it be easier if I just started another lobby, I have the setting saved" So you proceeded to set it up again.

Yes this did effect me and my team mate, because at the start of the 2nd attempt, there was a call that the settings were again wrong, then there was a few moments of confusion. Some players slowed to wait for clarity and others sped off and a couple crashed, then call for a restart again and then people backing out.
At this point it was creeping on for 21:45 BST! You your self backed out, as I remember you saying that you had DC'd again. So that would of been another 15 mins to get started. It would of been 11pm or so by the time we got done racing.
MNR Nightlocke wrote:
As for your final comment on the time and effort you put in, how much work did you do beside sitting there yelling at everyone in there and threatening to leave? This isn't meant to sound condescending, but this is an issue that needs to be straightened out.
A hell of a lot of practice, many hours worth over multiple nights and days in practice and tuning. To try and compete for the fastest times.
Not meant to sound condescending, well how else is that comment ment to be taken!?
Again I was not yelling at everyone, that was the previously mentioned player, at that his attentions was on you. Whilst on yelling you yourself yelled at everyone in a raised tone of voice after the second failed start.
I had somthing to say at the end before I backed out, I was appalled by the state of the proceedings and wanted to say my piece. I said nothing offensive or derogatory about you or anyone else, other than the use of the word "fuc..ing" when I said
"This lobby has been a fuc..ing joke tonight, we gave you the settings to make sure it worked right and you messed it up again, we've been waiting way over an hour now and this is an absolute mess, me and Warwick (Warwick had left already) will be taking tonight as a drop round. Goodnight."
"we gave you the settings" was ploral!? others did, no me.
MNR Nightlocke wrote:
Was the lobby a mess, absolutely it was. Settings were not working right, the advice you gave to fix the settings didn't work,I had to deal with your constant complaining and yelling about how awful TORA is, and pick up a lobby on next to no notice when I wasn't even expecting to race a day and a half prior.
As previously mentioned it was not I that gave you settings and again it was not I who was constantly moaning, at this point I really don't think you had any clue to who was doing what and who was saying what. If you have a problem be handed a lobby a day and a half prior to race day than maybe you shouldn't be hosting, or take the issue up with TORA management. Most people don't get that much notice to do a shift in there day to day jobs.
MNR Nightlocke wrote:
My point in all of this is that there were a lot of mistakes,
Agreed!
MNR Nightlocke wrote:
However you need to learn to treat those that put in the effort to try and make it work. When they try putting on the settings that have been suggested and it's been seen that those settings don't work, don't go on a tirade against the host.
Again you have targeted the wrong person, check your facts! As said this is false. For the record I have always had respect for host as I know they give a lot of free time to run these lobbies.
MNR Nightlocke wrote:
If you can't suggest the thing that will fix it, don't take the liberty of attacking the person that is trying to make sure it is fixed so that you all can enjoy your race.
Do I really need to say it again!?

In conclusion, yes I came to the forums instead of twitter or somthing over my personal experience and frustrations, as it was a total shambles.
If you struggle to handle criticism, tough!
Yes there was an issue of sorts with the lobby but the amount of time you took to get started was an absolute joke, over an hour after qualy had finished.
I most definitely do not expect to blamed and verbally attacked by a host of TORA or any race organiser for somone else attitude and behaviour through out. In your above post.
Reading through your post it has left me feeling like you really had no clue to who and what was going on in that lobby, other than said issue out of your hands, you don't even know the correct identity of the person giving you trouble in the lobby.
If you have a problem with TORA then take it up with them, that is nothing to do with me.
The thought had crossed my mind to leave the compition after the other night but I put that to a side thinking no take it as a drop round, let's forget about it and move on the next round. I may now reconsider that after your comments above.
I don't think I have anything more to say right now.

I don't have an issue with you personally either Huracan, but I'm not gonna take blame and be spoke to like this when I am not the person at fault. I spoke up twice only about the lobby state, as you have seen me quote above.
I don't know if you was in a fowl ass mood or what m8, but you was constantly moaning every few minutes and giving this guy grief.
Like I said I'm not gonna take blame for someone else's actions. You really should apologise to this guy not me.

This FM7 server side issue has been going on since the early hours of this morning here in the UK and given that fact I doubt it'll be rectified in time for tonights BGT rounds, still hoping it does sort itself out though as we're all keen to race this evening.

Re: British GT esports Championship - GENERAL DISCUSSION

Post by DriftiNHero on Sun 2 Sep 2018 - 19:21

The server issues have been going on since last Sunday (a week already).
A quick fix that has worked for me and for others so far is to launch free play, load a track and then go back to multiplayer.
This may not work the first time around.
After further investigations it has been solved by loading a track in free play and going for a 5 minute race around whatever track you loaded.
I just tried this method and have successfully joined Multiplayer.

Hope this helps.
