why not keep all the cars stock and have no tuning because i tried a race with no aero on the cars and they were very difficult to bump draft with so with stock tuning we will get better racing

Stock tuning for Sunset, we need tuning everywhere else. And Aero, in NASCAR they run a restrictor plate on the two 2.5 mile superspeedways Daytona and Talladega, restricting the cars makes the racing more realistic round the Sunset Speedway, as we will be all bunched up and bump drafting with each other.

Wouldn't that just mean that with stock tunes enforced, we'd be hitting the limiters halfway down the straight? Sorry - I really am a noob here aren't I!!!

dont worry we wont Even with the RP on you can still reach speeds in excess of 200mph without bouncing off the limiter, the Restrictor Plate + Stock Tuning encourages bump drafting (i.e two cars in a line go faster that one on its own) as the cars are all running the same speed with the plate. Wheras at Motegi or any Road Course, the Restrictor Plate isn't needed because there is the element of braking for corners and getting the car turned in nicely (definetaly what you need for Motegi). And this means that for all the other circuits - i.e not at Sunset Speedway, tuning should be permitted, it makes the cars a hell of a lot easier to drive, plus getting the right set-up is crucial in real NASCAR.

Would anyone be interested in running a Historic TASCAR series? I've run a few setups on the Buick, and have been working on some awesome replica paints which people would be welcome to use if they like!

a historic TASCAR would be awesome if FM3 had the Ford Torino Talladega. then the Charger Daytona, and the '68 GTO would have more competition. The Buick would be a better choice, as would the '90 IROC-Z Camaro for that IROC feel of things, or even the '02 Trans-Am

im IN. but i dont get home til 6pm EST (+5 for GMT). and all three 'Stock Cars' in my garage have the restrictor plate removed, and thats it! so if you want to set the lobby to 'stock tuning and upgrades', thats fine!

i hate that son of a bitch. at talladega this year we were sitting right at the start/finish line where they do driver introductions.

which was good, cause the drivers could hear the nice things we were saying to them...especially those toyota drivers...
