SBR: A History
Sam Billing Racing: SBR:
SBR was Founded Several years ago as a showcase for the Tuning Skills of Sam Billing (Sam Billing1991) on Gran Turismo 4 for the PS2. Shortly Afterwards Sam Discovered the driving talents of Michael Clements (Slider S15) During a school wide GT4 Competition in which Slider was narrowly beaten into second position overall.
The company evolved slowly at first until the Leap forward from GT4 on PS2 to Forza Motorsport 2 on Xbox 360. This was a much better showcase for the guys talanets and soon the SBR name began to spread internationally. Requests to tune cars started to come and custom paint schemes strated to fly out of the auction house.
With this newfound wealth SBR joined TORA on the 24th January 2009 in search of stiff competition, and promptly found it. A well doccumented poor car choice in the Teams first season TCC season (TCC Season 2) went very poorly. However since then SBR performances have been on the up with successes in the Seat Leon Supercup, Time Attack Club Class, TCC Season 3 and the very proud moment in the V8 Super Car cup when 5 of the 9 cars entered were all from SBR.
We have also had other members join SBR in this time both for one series or season and hopefully for the long term. The First of these was F4H Gashi in the GTC Championship, His great success in the name of the Team could not be backed up by the rest of the Team and eventually the majority of the Team elected to withdraw from the Event leaving Gashi undeservedly on his own. We have also welcomed TORA Superstar Driver DAN 2062 during the SBR Blitz on the V8 Supercars in which Dan made us proud by being the highest placed SBR entry and narrowly missed out on overall championship victory. Last but by no means least is ColinMcRae555 who has Joined SBR for the TCC Season 3. After playing a great team role in the TCC Colin went on to represent SBR in the V8 Supercar's aswell before leaving in 2010 to form (or should that be reform?) RedBull Racing.
On the 24th January 2010 SBR Celebrated their first year in TORA in style with the SBR 1st Anniversary 800K Challenge in which 8 Drifters from the TORA community, including SBR's own Sam Billing1991 and Slider S15, were challenged to break the 100,000 Drift points in one lap achievement around the Fearsome Fujimi Kaido Circuit. The Aim was to achieve 800,000 Drift points between the 8 drivers, however the Result was the Birth of a Fun and addictive challenge which will have to be repeated in the not too distant future. Slider S15 Won the Event by an impressive margin from Team mate and SBR Boss Sam Billing1991, The best way possible to celebrate SBR's first year in TORA.
The 2010 season started rather differently for SBR, With Slider driving for other teams to try and cut down on the work needed to run and develop a car so that he can concentrate on University, Sam found himself running SBR by himself in the LMS and TCM, However 2010 would become the greatest year in SBR's history starting with Slider successfully defending his SBR 800K Challenge title. However the best was yet to come with Slider winning the TORA Rally Championship of The World in his SBR Rockstar Subaru Impreza!! As if that wasn't enough Sam also won the TORA Historic Rally Championship of The World in his SBR Castrol Toyota Celica GT4 on the same night!!
The good times just kept on coming in 2010 with TORA Formula Drift proving to be a great showcase for SBR's talents with 4 of the Top 5 cars in the championship built by SBR's Driftworks division and Slider Himself being involved in a nailbiting fight for the Title which went down to the final run of the final event with Slider just falling short to Magictap in the Forza Tune Datsun 510.
Sadly real life caught up with Both o the SBR boys after that with Sam being unable to compete since 2010 and Slider restricted to guest appearances due to work commitments for both the 2011 and 2012 seasons, using the downtime to also build up Slider's Storefront to showcase his SBR products through his Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/SlidersStorefront )
So thats a brief(ish) outline of the History of SBR, Purveyers of Loud, Larey and Luminous Monstors....
More News on the Future soon...

Thanks for the mention guys. It was great being able to race with you when we could. Best of luck in the future.
Thanks for the mention too Slider! (old gamertag was ColinMcRae555)
You have forgotten the LMP2 team winning the teams title and also the wins Sam (1) and Myself (3/4?) had in that.
Would love to see or even drive a SBR car on TORA again someday.
