Calling all Ring Meisters!

I am dissapointed in that, I would much rather have the GT2 and GT3 cars (911 GT3 RSR, Audi R8 LMS, Viper CC, M3 GTR) in the top class, TORA GT3 cars in the next class, and then have the next class with TCC regs, but for any car. Having those above classes just takes away the Nurburgring 24hr-ness from the entire thing! DTM cars, or any other sillhouettes are banned from the real 24hr. Go onto youtube and watch the Ford GT vs Manthey Porsche and you will agree with me! And the classes prevent any equivelents to stuff like the Opel Manta that race in the real race, and the whole fun of the 24hr is all the unusual race cars that people turn up in.

This is our endurance race for those classes.
Other classes have their own one off endurance race, simples.

Also its a long way off, things can change.

But still, theres no other chance during the year to drive a GT2 car around the Nordschleife, and those things are bloody spectacular to watch and drive around there. I agree with it all really, its just the TCM bit.

if GT4 will be used in this, any word yet as to what cars are eligible for the GT4? i know that series wont start til after the conclusion of the GT3 season

I dont know DMR, but i certainly hope the lotus 2-eleven is on there:)

True, but the Nurby 24hr is all about the top line GT cars, which are spectacular as hell to watch when they are the top class and the open, anything goes classes with the touring cars, clios etc..

the DTM cars just ruins the basic atmosphere of the race! A Nurburgring round of the TCM would suit much nicer.

This is a race I desperately want to win. Not finish well or get a podium. Win. I have lapped this track in pretty much almost every racing game and sim it's appreared in. I don't even have my full driving licence yet and I already know the 'Ring like the back of my hand.

If I only manage to win one TORA race this season, this HAS to be it.

I plan to race the real Nurburgring 24 hours in 2012....Forza 3 is the best tool to know all of the corners...and i do...lol i know the track by heart...

need a teammate for that 2012 thing Jesse?

Really? That's awesome! I'd love to do the 24 hours for real.

Forza's Nordschleife is scaled up by 10%, so the corners are wider and longer, and the actual legnth of the track in forza is an extra 2km, which means that corners can be taken much faster in Forza. Add that onto the fact that Forza's version only has one surface the whole way round, and has almost none of the bumps properly modeled, I wouldn't say it was the best tool. The only good version is by Simbin, they have a laser scanned version of it with changing surfaces and grip levels, all of the bumps, and far superior car handling.

So GTR Evolution would be the best training tool for the Nordschleife? What about driving it on something like rFactor Pro, the same simulation half of the current F1 teams use, including Red Bull and Force India?

Well, if it has a laser scanned version of the track, yes. But IIRC, GTR Evo is the only sim with a laser scanned version.

Can you imagine trying to laser scan the Nordschleife? Must take ages!

Or really big lasers from space designed to shoot down ICBM's to prevent WWIII or at least make sure the US wins it. Lol.

The classes have changed for this, I dont know if this has been said already but I didnt know as I was looking forward to taking my TCM car round here.

GT C (from FLM)
GT3 (from GT3)
GT4 (from GT4)
S200 (from TCC)

Ooh i like the sounds of GT C they look like similar classes to that of the Britcar event nice!
