Hey guys.
I will be working on a race report later on when I come back from the doctors.
Still sad that Short Shift (aka Marchie) and KR15 couldn't make the race.

More than made up for it with ur 2nd place finish tho didn't ya lad! Good on son.

Congrats dan on your second place well deserved from what i heard nice one for you and the team. i was working last nite but i should make the next race.

Thanks guys for the congradulations.
I was gutted when the race finished because I could have won in the dying laps. But it took some time to think of the satisfaction with what I did.
I'm working on some photographs now as I'm typing this for the race report; so hopefully it should be up later this evening.

UPR MOTORSPORTS NEWSLETTER (10/11/2008)

Hi everyone. Welcome to another issue of our newsletter.
Round 3 of the 2008/2009 British GT championship was held at Laguna Seca. Unfortunately, it was only a one car effort for this race. KR15 ONE and Short Sh1ft were unable to make it to Laguna. So, all of the pressure was mounted on DAN 2605's shoulders to do well for the team.
And once again, he delivered superbly on race day. Qualifying 4th and finishing the race in second overall. This put the smiles on the faces of Team mate and boss Short Shi1ft and his other team mate, KR15.
The start of the race however wasn't that straight forward for Dan, as he dropped two places by Ianmr and AJzero; to end up sixth by Turn two.





However: a corner later, there was a big accident between Ianmr and WayFastWh1tey, which bought out the safety car. By this time, Dan managed to make it past AJzero before the cars were bunched up together for the restart.




Things got a bit tight at the restart: with AJ trying to pass Dan at turn one, but failed. After that, Dan, Monk and Champion were getting a bit too close together as they squabbled for first place.




A couple of corners later, a small mistake from Monk meant that Dan was able to jump up into second. Which he would keep until lap 5 when just before the corkscrew, a rare mistake slips him down to third again.
Things were going well for Dan. Kept third place and he was managing to stay between 400 and 600 metres behind the leader. Until lap 18 when something very rare happened. Champion had suffered a blown engine and was out of the race: meaning now that Dan was up to second (well clear of everyone else).




Second place was looking good, but Monk was easing off the gas pettle a bit too much; which meant that Dan was catching up fast behind the leader. With two laps to go, he passes monk at the top of the corkscrew and he was leading the race.
But the tention in the UPR Motorsport pit area really was tense. They knew that Dan could have a good chance of a win, but it meant keeping Monk behind for one whole lap in a far superior car.
Dan did his best to keep Monk behind him; but he admits some of his defensive driving was a bit too defensive. It was looking great until they both got to the corkscrew for the last time. On the exit of that corner, Dan was having trouble accelerating away from the corner. But Monk had no problems.
But it ended with Monk colliding with Dan and sends him into a half spin. A first win robbed from him. Dan recovered but had trouble on the last couple of corners from NICKFTM3. But, he managed to hold on to second. A brilliant result for the team.

Of course at the end of the race, Dan was totally devastated and nearly crying by the fact that he lost the chance of a win by no fault of his own.
Despite this though, it was a good result for Dan and the team.

haha that was a good race. I loved it when there was 4 wide into the first corner. rubbin is race. Loving the Report m8. Well done. I down shifted to fast and locked the rear wheels, the next thing i new was i was sliding past monk with smoke plowing out

top report lad just a bit sad i wasnt there for such a good race dam! lol maybe next time.....

Good news has come through that UPR Motorpsorts have another major sponsor from Samsung.
The team as you know is supposed to be the sister team of ULTIMATE MOTORSPORT. But so far this season, UPR has made the Ultimate team look like the sister team instead. With there stunning start to the season with their three high class drivers dominating the teams championship.

Hello and once again welcome to upr motorsport,

Sunday the 23rd saw the fourth round of the brit gt held at motegi!

the action started straight away with qualifying both KRI5 ONE , igr shortshift and DAN2605 were expecting great things in qualifying as all the drivers we putting in some fast times in practise an THEY didn't disappoint with a superb show with KR15 ONE grabbing 3rd position on the grid , igr short shift had a tyre problem in his qualifying but still managed to grab 5th over all the bad news came for DAN as he had oil temp problems in practise
which developed in to a terminal problem which forced him out of qualifying
and the race asked after this in the pits Dan was very disappointed not to be in the race as in the last round he showed all his talent with a very superb 2nd place finish (" IM DISSAPOINTED NOT TO BE RACEING TODAY BUT I WILL BE BACK FOR THE NEXT ROUND AND WITH A NEW ENGINE , GOOD LUCK TO KRIS ONE AND IGR SHORT SHIFT FOR THE RACE.")

In the race it was a very close run thing with a tight start & finish straight and a Sharpe 180 degree 1st turn contact between anybody was inevitable and with no one wanting to give an inch there was small contact between KR1S ONE AZT BACKFIRE AND WAYFASTWHITEY

The contact sent wayfastwhitey in to a slide and ianmr and igr short shift both took advantage of this and moved up the field with AZT backfire slipping down to 5th all this allowed AZT mad monk and KR15 ONE to bridge a small gap in 1st and 2nd mad monk saw what had happen to his team m8
and put in some stunning laps with KRIS ONE trying to keep on his bumper back in 3rd 4th and 5th ian igr short shift and backfire were having a mother of a battle with over take after over take with back fire making the most of this he went in to 3rd position on lap 5 and started to hunt down our KRIS ONE in 2nd place.
with the help of his team m8 mad monk started to back up the field so AZT back fire could catch up and this tactic work on lap 7 as back fire took advantage of KR15ONE small mistake as he run wide on the 5th corner



but KRIS ONE wasn't 1 to give up and he piled on the pressure and 2 laps later managed a DOUBLE OVER TAKE going in to turn 2
as he slipped past mad monk and back fire ,

as all this was happening in front of IGR SHORT SHIFT he was able to put in some really quick laps and catch up the battling trio and was soon on to the back of mad monk and back fire and past them both in a heated battle
where paint was traded between all 3 of them lucky igr short shift was able to take the initiative and come out on top, now in 2nd place igr short shift soon caught up to his team m8 and on lap 11 KRIS went in to the pits and gave the lead to igr short shift with a superb in lap and smooth pit stop on lap 13 igr had him self a 150meter lead as he exited the pits over his team m8 with his head down and in control of the race igr raced of in to the distance with kris one behind him holding up mad monk and backfire so he could get away .

lap 17 saw kris one get a small tap from behind which put him in to the gravel which allowed mad monk and back fire to both slip through!!

down to 4th kris had a lot of work to do to catch up and on the last lap mad monk mad a small mistake which sent him in to a spin and in to the bridge
going out of turn 10 after the main back straight which allowed kris to sail through and in to 3rd position just as igr short shift was crossing the line for his second victory of the season and back fire and kris one crossed the line behind him respectively...... mad monk came home in 4th with wayfastwhitey 5th and bringing up the rear ianmr..

A SUPERBE RESULT FOR UPR MOTORSPORT....

Hello one again.
News has just come through that DAN 2605 is no longer going to use the TVR SAGARIS.
After doing so well so-far this season, he felt that the TVR wasn't going to be good enough to be a championship winner.
So, he's decided to go the same way as his team mates; and use a four wheel drive car.
Just before he flew to Japan, DAN revealed his new car exclusively for Motorsport News:





They managed to have a quick word with dan before his flight to Japan:

M.N: DAN, the first question is pretty obviously really. Why have you decided to switch to the Lamborghini Gallardo instead of your TVR?
DAN: Well after doing so well this season, I thought that my trusty TVR just doesn't have the speed or consistency to be a title contender. If you look at it, the four wheel drive cars have won all the races so far. So I thought, why not I use one aswell?

M.N: I have to say that your new car looks stunning. But is it really good enough to be up there? Because other drivers who have used the lambo haven't been too sucessful yet!!
DAN: That's true. If I'm honest, I know that this car hasn't had too much sucess yet. Nothing will change at Suzuka either. I've tried this car for less than a day, so I can't be quick straight out the box. It takes time.
Also, four wheel drive is a new experience to me; because the way you enter and exit the corners is different. Also, the brakes are different aswell. It'll take me time. But for now and the race at Suzuka, it's going to be a learning experience.

M:N: And finally. I know that you've come close to a win this season. How long do you think it will take you to win?
DAN: OH!! That is a really tough question. Ermm. I'm hoping if all goes well, within the next two or three races. But it's going to be tough because there are a lot of fast drivers and also the Audi S5's and Porsche 911 Turbos are going to be very tough to beat. But that doesn't stop me from trying. So I'm hoping, pretty soon!!!
