World Time Attack Challenge 2010 (WTAC) 21-22 May

As probably none of you know (if my assumptions about TORA are Correct) There is a World Time Attack Challenge being held in Australia on May 21-22.

Cars from all over the world are going to Australia to compete to try and find the fastest in the world and take home the trophy. Sadly there are no cars from the UK there, (not sure why, i think we just wernt invited) but with some famous machines from both the USA and Japan competing against each other and the World Debut of World Racing's AWD Scion tC which is rumoured to have 1000BHP at the wheels!!

That is a product of reading Speed Hunters though.

Any UK guys competing? Olly Clark and his Gobstopper really should go, and Andy Gallacher would have owned this if he hadn't retired...

Apparently Olly Clark has sold the legendary Gobstopper and is building something new for 2011!

(and ive seen Gallacher's Focus Mutant thing on Flea-bay for sale so not sure he'd be an option either!

I'm not completely sold on Time Attack, I completely respect the out right lunacy of the cars and the mentalists that drive them, but because its not really much of a spectator sport I don't really follow it..

This has reminded me about my Hillclimb challenge too

I like to think of it as modern day Group B but in a safer slightly more spectator friendly environment!

The Gobstopper has been sold!?

The Focus up on eBay wasn't Gallacher's. It was his first one he built in 2007, then sold to Charlie Shaw. Charlie has bought his 2008, and is selling the 2007 one. AG Motorsport are also selling their Fiesta, which is just as much a beast as its big brother!

Nae bother, got all those logos done from my original gobstopper paint anyway!

I'm going to watch the time attach the BDC etc on April 24th at Oulton

Ok a quick update as i cant sleep.

As well as the World Debut of the World Racing AWD Scion tC Unlimited time attack car the even will also see the debut of a new Australian Time Attack car.

The New car has been dubbed the Superfalcon and is the 2008 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Ford Falcon with a new XR6 Turbocharged Engine.

Finally the media rights have been released and im afraid your going to have to pick up a Maxpower magazine if you want to read about it in the UK (or get a Banzai magazine if you can find one!)
