I'm loving how quiet the "floor" seems to be at Gamescom according to these videos. 2 years ago when I was at NCsoft, Sony asked us to quieten down because the commotion on our stand was attracting all the attention away from theirs! Laughing

I used to love the GT series but I don't care for them anymore. It's not a racing game, it's a 'Driving Simulator'.

GT was always the game to play but all they ever do now is upgrade the graphics and take 10 years to do it. While they spend so much time making 1 game, the rest of the world have already moved on.

GT5 won't have an editor, you know it, i know it, the world knows it. You'll get a few designs to choose from and thats that.

Now on to damage...only on some cars...basically a half completed game. Hell not even all the cars have a cockpit view... Rolling Eyes

Don't get me wrong, i don't hate GT...if this was released a few years back, which it should of been...then no doubt i would of been playing this non stop. But would i go and buy a PS3 to play this, knowing full well the next GT game won't even be on the PS3 and i'll be in my 30's by the time it's released, which by then we'll be on Forza 7 or something.

Like I said, I dont hate GT...GT1 started off the simulator racing for me but they need move on and do it much quicker aswell. With a much better physics engine then this game would be unbeatable for a few years.

only complaint is the gran turismo branded karts, they must not have been able to get licensees from real karting companies

Who else has the signature edition pre-ordered.

WWR Chillz wrote:No livery editor according to the creators interview.......probably.
If you slow down one of the E3 or pre-E3 videos, then you will see some form of livery editior being hinted at. But the bit about this is at the end of the video.

I think the Karting part of the game could make for a great online championship, along with some other types of racing.

Here is some info and videos from TGS:

Info

*Laguna Seca has been completely rebuilt and will return for GT5. Trial Mountain has also been confirmed.

*“Gran Turismo Anywhere” will allow you to manage B-Spec races, right from your computer. You’ll be able to hold B-Spec races with your friends from anywhere in what are called “Remote Races”.

*GT5 will feature a series of special events such as the Karting Experience, the AMG driving school, The Stig Challenge, Jeff Gordon NASCAR School, Sebastien Loeb Rally Challenge, and Gran Turismo Rally.

*Point-to-point rally stages will be automatically and randomly generated – you’ll have to depend on your co-driver to give you the best instructions about the road ahead.

*Rally mode can be played either on or offline.

*Weather changes include temperature differences, air pressure changes, and humidity, affecting the surface conditions of the track dynamically.

*Weather conditions are randomized. Forecasts for your race will be available but may not be entirely accurate, just like the real world.

*Polyphony Digital has helped Red Bull Racing’s Adrian Newey design the X1 Concept – an “ultimate” racing car, free of any technical regulations.

*Polyphony Digital has worked to improve engine sounds.

*Yamauchi admits that, in certain situations – such as standing race starts in the rain with 15 other cars on the screen kicking up spray in front of you – the game may not be able to hold 60FPS. Otherwise, it will strive to hold 60FPS as often as possible.

*The Volkswagen Kubelwagen, which has a drive system like the first beetle, and the amphibious Volkswagen Schwimmwagen will be in the game.

*Many things didn’t make the cut in Gran Turismo 5, and work on Gran Turismo 6 has already begun.

There's no denying the game looks good, but it pains me to even consider paying £300 odd to play it, seeing as I have no PS3.

If I were single the decision would be a lot easier. Now I have to justify my expenditure, and Anna may cut off some vital parts of me if I were to buy another piece of electronic entrertainment that keeps me away from her!
