We will hold two concurrent trophies; one for privateers, the other for teams.
The privateers will simply run, and receive their finishing positions normally.

The teams however, will score AS A TEAM.
The way this will work is as follows:

The finishing positions of the drivers within a team will be added together, then divided by the number of drivers to give an average score. This will enable a fair comparison between 2- and 3-driver teams.

The finishing positions for the team trophy will then be calculated based on the lowest average score first, down to the highest average score. In the case of two teams having the same average score, the team with the highest placing driver will take precedence.

For example:

Team 1 - Driver 1 finishes 1st, Driver 2 Finishes 5th = 6/2 = 3
Team 2 - Driver 1 finishes 6th, Driver 2 Finishes 7th = 13/2 = 6.5
Team 3 - Driver 1 finishes 2nd, Driver 2 Finishes 3rd, Driver 3 Finishes 4th = 9/3 = 3

So in this example, the finishing order would be:

1 Team 1 (highest finisher = 1st)
2 Team 3 (highest finisher = 2nd)
3 Team 2

This should make for some interesting results! Very Happy

Would it not be better to do it with race times? You could set the end race timer to a long time and get as many people as possible to write down each others times?

Not really because the end timer only relates to the time between the first and last person crossing the line. If the person doing the recording is one of the last to finish, or the whole field crosses the line within a few seconds, it still only leaves you 10 secs to write a lot of info down and can get missed. With such a long race it would be a disaster to miss recording someone's time.

The above scoring method maintains the spirit of the team result, but with a simpler way of getting the necessary data.
