If I can be critical, I don't think that TVR is much good anymore to be honest. You could either change you car or I can help you out if need be. When I get my winnings off Scot for the ROC (because I've got no more cash), I will build a TVR and see what I can do with it.
Dan,
I was under the impression that all the cars were balanced to make sure that one was not significantly better/worse. In previous seasons we've had no trouble getting the Sagaris into A lobby. That is where my frustration stems from. If the car list was more concentrated & better balanced then everyone benefits.
I personally don't mind the longer races, but I definately think that the track should be chosen carefully given that we'll be spending so long going round it.

Re: General Discussion
I tested the TVR before the season started and thought it was truely horrible! I think what needs to happen is that when the cars are tested and before the car list is created and finalised you take the cars that are quite a distance off the front running pace so it would make the field closer as everyone would be in a competitive car.
Oh and as for the race distance it would be better to have two 30 minute races just like last season but this time make mandatory pit stops in both races which is a great idea

have not driven the TVR outside of A but prefer the 1 hour race as once you get into a groove the race starts to get easier, however i can understand if ur having a bad race then it feels like forever

We did do that, and the reason the TVR is still on the list is because when I tested it, it was the 3rd fastest car in the list (using my own build/tune).
There's 45 cars on the list. If you can't get the one you "like" because of its brand/looks, to run fast. Pick something else! It is possible that some cars need careful tuning - that is not the car's fault! I think it was Ianmr, who said the Shelby GT500 needed more PI, then I ran comparable/faster times than him (he was in a car he was comfortable in) at Road Atlanta, in the existing PI limit, and he said "wow, I want that tune", so you see my point?
Slow times don't necessarily mean bad car.

is there a car list to look through??

Don't take it personally mate.
The TVR may have been 3rd fastest using your own tune - but previous regulations have stipulated that any testing for car lists should take place with stock tunes, so I'm not sure that's relevant.
The reason I brought it up originally was due to the fact that we haven't struggled to get it up to good pace in the past, yet this season there is a chasm of difference in performance for us. It just seems a little odd that's all. Anyone who we've had the pleasure of tussling with in A lobby in the past can attest to the above.
You see my point?

The tune I used for test times was a "base tune" added to all cars....
Did Travis give you the tune I sent him before Suzuka?
I'm happy to help you get the car working by making a tune or two for you. I won't be too happy if you then kick my @ss with it!
Re: General Discussion
Yea guys shout up if you need help, Chris and im sure a number of our members will help out.
This is where we went wrong previoulsy with our GT championships, trying to test with no base set ups is a no go, as you need to test with up too 3 builds on a car, speed, grip balanced etc for each circuit.

Re: General Discussion
I've got that tune Chris and it's no quicker...I'm sure Travis ran it at Suzuka but me and Dave ran a similar time over race distance with my tune.
To be fair we've nearly got three years worth of Sagaris tunes/builds which have served us well on both FM2/FM3 so it's not like we're new to this.
The cars not even half my problem...the hour long race, the sim damage, the change from the two races per meet format, poor calendar...its just taken most of the fun out of it for me.

Re: General Discussion
Hey dude,
Thats cool, we wanted to do somthing diffrent this year, nearly all the circuits we have used this year and the format are diffrent, we decided to change so we could offer somthing new.
However after this season has finised and collectivley we gauge that our members want a diffrent format then we will change, we like feed back and we do listen
Cheers all

Re: General Discussion
I have to say one thing on the subject of the race calender. Why oh why Iberian . This track is not designed for higher classes to race round and certainly through the testing I've done with other guys is going to be a tragic race. There's no where really to overtake and if you do then you are highly likely to make contact. In lower powered and lower pi cars its a good track, but for 500+ hp cars, generally it's a bit of a joke.
I won't be racing around here in 2 weeks time, the racing will be terrible in my opinion.

Re: General Discussion
i would have to agree with Butcher on this one. although the Winter GT is only 5 races long, i wouldnt want to miss a meeting. i'd hate to say it, but Laguna might be a better pick over Iberian (and we've all heard how im not friends with Laguna Seca)

Re: General Discussion
i like these tracks, seeing if i can soak up the pressure of cars hustling to get passed,or putting the pressure on trying to make the person infront make a mistake, and at the end of it you know you,ve been in a race. on some tracks its all to easy to overtake.

Re: General Discussion
and i have to disagree with you about iberian, i managed the other night to race 8 V8 supercars other than abit of door rubbing it was an excellent racei think the only problem area could be the jump but then it depends which way we are going

Reverse
Personally I think the "you can't get past" thing means there'll be a tight field spread, which piles the pressure on and makes for the most memorable races.
Re: General Discussion
One day, I shall return to the GT series. But looking at it, I think it may not happen until FM4 is released.

Re: General Discussion
There wont be any passing in the top lobbies without contact the times are too close. contact means damage, damage means a slow car. Not keen on driving a slow car for an hour so might be watching top gear that week lol Ay Nick?

Wow. I'm really surprised by all the negativity/defeatist attitudes. You don't see F1 drivers saying "actually I don't think I'll race at Monaco; I might run into someone, or a wall"......
Re: General Discussion
We do it purely for fun.
They get paid an obscene amount of money.

Re: General Discussion
Like troff said we race for fun but iberian reverse with 500bhp is not fun. Dont tell him him but i agree with Butch we done a seat super cup race round this track and it was epic. I'd swap this for monaco any day.
