New shots of BMW DTM 2012

Interesting that they are racing it as an M3 instead of just a 3 series while Audi and Mercedes both race base versions of their cars instead of S or AMG models.

It also doesn't have as insane an aero package as I was expecting. Color me disappointed.

And yes it looks awesome. Less aero is good.

Plus the cars will be wider!

That'll have somethign to do with the link in with Super GT.
Interesting they seem to be moving away from saloons and more to coupes though. Audi of course have run the A4 for a good number of years now using the A5 coupe, BMW's M3 looks the biz, so it'll be interesting to see what Mercedes use now.
All we need is Opel to wade back into battle with a new version of the Calibra and we'll have the old ITCC back

Thats because the new DTM cars have a NASCAR style body ''template'' to work with. All the cars will have pretty much identical roof lines..

ah right thats why then lol! Dont like that idea tbh it really cuts down on "innovation" as such. . .

The roof line really does remind me of that old Calibra..

The new DTM cars all have the same monocoques too.

No different from the common subframes in the BTCC, the spec Chassis in the Swedish TTA or the spec chassis in the V8 Supercars which are all coming next year.

The WTCC is the closest to the production car!
