Re: 2011 Petit Le Mans
I can't believe no one picked up David Brabham for their 3rd for Petit. He's as good as anyone in P1 and Level 5 surely could have used the help of someone who's been behind the wheel of an HPD for the last few years. O well, should be interesting to see how the new car matches up with the Oreca Nissan. The 01d seems to be about on par with it in the hands of Strakka.

I doubt it, Road Atlanta can host 59 cars down the main pit lane, we're now at 58 so... WE'RE GOOD!!!!!

Re: 2011 Petit Le Mans
If most of the GTC and LMPC field gets cut in prequalifying and Dyson and Muscle Milk are again way off the pace of the Audis/Peugeots, I don't think the most of the ALMS teams are going to be very happy about the whole ILMC race sharing deal for the future.

Re: 2011 Petit Le Mans
Narboza I expect this 2 be the last Petit Le Mans supported by factory efforts to a certian extent.
The WEC will go to Sebring and they want to go to either another non ALMS track (Circuit of the americas) or South America or Canada.
Sorry Louis you are correct, have they all ready culled some GTC porsches?
Also lets start this predection game rolling -
Overall Victory
P1 = 7 - ILMC- Team Peugeot Total - Peugeot 908 - Davidson-Bourdais-Pagenaud (Silverstone Pace of Pgts for overal distance was so quick)
Plus Go Ant
P2 = 26 - ILMC - Signtech Nissan - Oreca 03 Nissan - Vernay-Mailleux-Ordonez
GTE-Pro -51 ILMC - AF Corse - Ferrari 458 Italia - Fisichella-Bruni-Kaffer (Time to show ALMS GT drivers how to race )
63 - ILMC - Proton Competition - Porsche 911 GT3 RSR - Lietz-Reid
LMPC and GTC No idea

Re: 2011 Petit Le Mans
Yea, I agree about Petit not being part of the WEC, but I don't think Dyson and co. will be too happy about sharing Sebring next year. I can understand where they are coming from, but unless Corvette, Risi, and the Lizards enter the WEC, I think that championship will be seriously lacking. The WEC appears to have no American teams in it that are real competitors. Krohn and Level 5 kind of seem like amateurs to me compared to some of the US teams that could be racing.
These are the teams that I WANT to win Petit:
P1: Oreca or Orxy Dyson
P2: 055 Level 5 with Franchitti
GTPro: 4 Corvette
GTAm: Labre Vette
LMPC: 06 Core Autosport
GTC: 54 Black Swan Racing
These are the teams that I THINK will win:
P1: 7 Peugeot (which pains me because I like Davidson, I love Pagenaud, but I hate Bourdais)
P2: 055 Level 5 with Franchitti
GTPro: 56 BMW (Pretty sure the RLL cars are going to run away with this, and I will be surprised if any of the 911s or 458s are as fast as the BMWs or the Vettes)
GTAm: Krohn
LMPC: 06 Core Autosport
GTC: 54 Black Swan Racing

Re: 2011 Petit Le Mans
Racing Incident, Why not wait until in tow down the straight not enough room and yes you can move to left
Re: 2011 Petit Le Mans
Where else was Dumas supposed to go? That wasn't him trying to pass Montagny, that was him passing the GT car. Montagny then shifted over to the left forcing Dumas off the track and into the Porsche. Was he trying to crash the Audi? No, but he did force it off the track and the result is that another great race was ruined.
Maybe Dumas should have known better considering he already had to abort a pass on the Peugeot once today and there were all the shenanigans that Peugeot displayed at Le Mans, but all that needed to happen here for that crash not to happen was Montagny to not drift to the left. He would have still been in front of the Audi and the 908 is faster down the straights anyway.

Re: 2011 Petit Le Mans
Just got back home from Petit early, unfortunately. I really wanted to stay, but in my excitement I walked too much and I was just dead around 6-hour mark. I got a ton of pics though (and some videos on my phone though I dunno how to get them on the computer) and my dad snapped a bunch of pictures on his nice camera as well (as well as shots with Lucas Ordonez, Anthony Davidson, and Nishy!)

Re: 2011 Petit Le Mans
Nick and Martin were brilliant, especially the performance of a musical during one of the full course cautions by Nick. About as colourful as it gets!
