Hi guys, I'm thinking of running a mini series using the Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4

This would be a stock tune/build series. Standard TORA setting except simulation steering is also locked.

I was considering either 4 races (2 locations, 2 races at each) each night on shorter tracks or 2 races on longer ones (possibly mix the locations per night as I'd like to use as many tracks as possible)

Other details will be available once I gauge interest..
 
I was aiming for it to last 4 weeks to keep the interest up.  Also happy to run it later in the night to get some of the US guys joining us.

If we can get this going I'm in! It's such a beautiful car. I say stick with short courses, and maybe 25 minute timed races? Qualifying could be a super-pole format too?

Make it an "arrive-and-drive" type series...no tuning of anything.

Yea Stock build and tune and simulation steering, think sim steering needs to be forced on now in all our championships but this is just my thought

100% agree... Sim steering is a must! This series would be awesome.

Track ideas...

Catalunya national, Camino full, Mugello Club, silverstone national or international, Suzuka west, Atlanta club, sunset club, Sebring short and twin rings east.

I'm liking 4 races (2x2)..

catalunya, mugello, silverstone and suzuka get my vote but the car would suit the longer tracks.

yea medium longer tracks -

Catalunya national

Nurburgring GP

Road Atlanta or Road America

Hockenhiem

I'd use Silverstone International. It's about the right size for those.
And Road Atlanta would be good too.

So my list of candidates would be:

Catalunya Nat.
Silverstone Int.
Road Atlanta
Sunset Infield/Nurby National/Short
Sebring Short.

Liking the choices.. Off to practice on them, once I get rid of this hangover!!!

after trying these again tonight this should be started as a fun series.Brilliant cars to drive and great fun straight out the box.

yep.. i think we need this as production spec series.. they where great fun last night.
Looking back through the thread, maybe not sim steering now

but apart from that lets do it..
How about 2 locations/2 races at each per night. 1 month series weekly meetings - keep the interest up?

Individuals or teams of two.

Format?
Track 1
Rolling starts
10 minute sprint (grid set by 2 qualifying hot laps)
30 minute feature (grid set by reverse finishing order from the sprint (within lobby))

Track 2
Rolling starts
10 minute sprint (grid set by 2 qualifying hot laps)
30 minute feature (grid set by reverse finishing order from the sprint (within lobby))

Points?
Same for sprint and feature.
1st to 15th Position 20/18/16/14/12/10/9/8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1
Pole - 1
F. Lap - 1
Depends on interest but I don't expect lots of lobbies..

Is this a Thursday event?? 
Would later than 2000 Uk time get more interest from those with different time zones??
