Well I think its fair for everyone because you know the rules before you signed up. The points dont get reversed BTW, only the lobbies.
I have given this example before somewhere.....
Here is an example of points for Race 3:
30, 28, 26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Lobby 1:
Driver 1: 8pts
Driver 2: 7pts
Driver 3: 6pts
Driver 4: 5pts
Driver 5: 4pts
Driver 6: 3pts
Lobby 2:
Driver 1: 18pts
Driver 2: 16pts
Driver 3: 14pts
Driver 4: 12pts
Driver 5: 10pts
Driver 6: 9pts
Lobby 3:
Driver 1: 30pts
Driver 2: 28pts
Driver 3: 26pts
Driver 4: 24pts
Driver 5: 22pts

As you see, getting 1st in lobby a doesnt give you least points. Coming last in lobby a would. Its hardly a race to come last, as you would get less points than you would a win......

Surely the entire point of racing your hardest to get into lobby A should see you then able to score more points for three races???.

Sorry to sound like a whinging old fart but alot of work has gone in, I love the racing just very disappointed for winning but not winning.

As ShortSh1ft said, the full rules have been up for weeks. The idea is quite simply so that those qualify down the lobbies get a chance to score good points.
At the end of the day, if you qualify quickly and get in to lobby A, then you have TWO chances to score good points. And as ShortSh1ft also points out, finishing top of lobby A in race three is better than finishing last in lobby A, so there's plenty left to race for.
Last year, the more powerful cars driven by experienced drivers ran away with the championship, leaving little for those in slower cars or cars down on power to fight for. Just because it says PI A800 on all the competitors doesn't make them equal. By reversing the points in race three, it keeps the competition closer together.
And this is one rule that will not change.
As for the 4WD advantage, we are already working out a plan for that, but we will look at evening up things for the next round.
I realise that the limited damage situation will result in damaged cars, but the reason we planned for this to be used this season was to try and prevent people from bashing into each other - at the end of the day, both cars will likely result in damage. So, ultimately it is a deterrent. We will keep an eye on how this works out over the next few rounds before making a call on whether we change this rule.
Backfire, I apologise again, as I did during the race, for our coming together, it certainly wasn't malicious nor intended. My car suffered damage too.

I think the revers points is a very good idea, i think luckier managed to win the season last time with about 4 rounds to go
And Ck is right, you have got 2 races where you can score a lot of points, and in race 3 you now have a lot more to fight over since the points are small. Its a very good system, well done Ck and marchie for coming up with it.

That is kinda the point - in the real BTCC, if a car goes out, that is pretty much it. It's gonna take some to get back in to the race. It is going to happen, it is going to be unfortunate, but luck is all part of the game, real or virtual. It will make a difference to the championship, which is why I am reluctant to do anything about it just now.
Sadly, Backfire was the first to experience this, and I truly do hope it doesn't hugely impact his championship given it was me involved in one of the incidents. But Jason Plato lost the BTCC the same way this year, so I have no doubt anything is possible.
What I will be considering though is the safety car system used in the BGT. Never having raced in the BGT, I was surprised at how effective it was when I first saw it used in a test session, so I'm keen on using it here. an announcement will be made shortly if we decide to include this.

The safety car system if a very good one, I first saw it used when we were racing in another series. At the time I had no idea what was going on, and i sped past everyone! lol
It all comes down to laps again ck. If we have a crash, say, on lap 3 then on some of the bigger tracks like laguna, by the time everyone has caught up then it will easily be lap 4, if not 5 after people get their engines repaired.

I think a safety car is a good idea, but i think it is only going to work if you run more laps... if for example the rolling start rule comes in, a 10 lap race goes down to 9 effectively if you know what i mean and then if there is a big crash, an already short race is made shorter.
Alternatively i think maybe the damage needs to be turned off like the BGT to compensate for not having a safety car due to the amount of laps in the BTC.

yeah its avalid point, but we can't have 25 lappers in the BTCC, kidna defeats the point doesn't it?
