XBL issues...

With all the connectivity issues this week due in part to the latest patch and some virus by hackers in Estonia, am I wrong in thinking that it may be a good idea to postpone this week's TCC/NATCC races?

After today's GT issues, maybe it would prevent more hard feelings to postpone sooner rather than at race time?

Just a thought.

That'd be a good idea, cos seeing what I saw this morning when I got up was pretty saddening, reading what had happened, I know it's no ones fault here, it was turn 10's and the Internet, so I'm not taking a pick at you guys, trust me, but that would be a really good idea

In my opinion nothing should be postponed just because "hackers" did what they did on sunday.

Why should we stop what we enjoy to make room for people who spend their entire lives trying to break things?

No point in my eyes to postpone this. Everything could be fine.

I know where you are coming from. I can make this Tuesday, but if it gets postponed to a Tuesday I cant make, Im in the same boat

I don't see how postponing it would make any difference - it could just as likely fail at the re-scheduled day/time as at the original day/time, so can't second guess what may happen in the future.

Just to clear up any misconceptions. The TCC race is still happening tomorrow (Tuesday 10th July @ 8pm BST). Any speculation to the contrary is a waste of yours and our time, so, thread locked.

I've unlocked this thread again to get some info/feedback, since a bunch of the staff including myself noticed the connection issues were still ongoing tonight. Did anyone else notice this/have problems tonight?

Yes, we had problems between 20:00 and 20:30.

Before this everything was ok. When we opened the race lobby it took me 2 minutes to actually create the lobby, I managed to get one person in then I could not get anyone in. We tried again with another driver hosting and we got the same.

At 20:30 the problem seemed to go away.

I say go for it tonight and pick a time to abort if things start to go wrong.

I am looking forward to Homkenheim.

Yesterday we also had problems with connections. We where in a lobby no problems and then a person left to tune his car and could not reconnect. We then treid setting up other lobbies with different hosts but no one could connct to anyone, while people did have open NAT setting and play together often.

I stopped playing so i don't know when it stopped being a problem, but our problem started around 21:00hr CEST

Can we just go ahead, and have updates if problems are encountered, via live timing or Twitter? Like a Race Control-to-Teams message

I just added a race control line in the Live Timing. Dont expect it to stay there always as I'm sure TORA are making a better one at some point.

Not all have access to the Twitter account to be able to update it, is anyone one tonight have access??

I'm not a tweeter, and to solve bandwidth issues, I usually turn off teh laptop's wifi come race time.

Wouldn't it be better to use XBL PMs? I'm not sure, but I think a message can be sent to "All Friends", which would help those involved and be just a minor annoyance to those who weren't planning on racing tonight.

But if your on the TCC friends list and not my friends list I cant send you a message like that

Unfortunately you can't send messages from a silver account, as otherwise this definitely would be the easiest solution (all the MSA TORA xxx accounts are silver) and not everyone is on, for example, my friends list (for GT all 188 people could not fit on one friends list anyway!!).

I brought up this solution Mikey but it proved unworkable, to send a message to "all friends" the account needs to be gold and the TORA gamertags are silver so unfortunately any messages have to be relayed via some form on the PC.

You can follow @ATR_Dynamics and I can try doing updates from there.

I was online at 2am PST (10am BST?) and the only issue I had was some French guy using Kinect, as all you could hear was a houseload of French kids in the background.

I'm not sure about the other lobbies but B lobby ran pretty smoothly last night.........let's hope we've seen the back of the recent issues

B lobby was the only one that had issues with getting people in. We had some lag in C lobby but not too bad
