The 94 Civic in SP3 is practically impossible to build. To build with the given rules, you cannot have adjustable ARB, which in this car renders it useless. You can get it to go with Street Brakes but that's against the rules...

Is the Citroen DS4 not viable for SP3?

Hey, I'd just like to made clear on a few things. I've looked in other threads but couldn't find the info I'm after.

1. Can solo drives be done? (1 driver for all 4 stints)

2. I'm working when the registration opens, and it's likely that the entry list will fill quickly. Will I still be able to register and race in the event?

2. Yes, but you might not get the car you want if it's popular. The limits are: 3 per SP1 car; 2 per SP3 car; No limit for SP1 Cup cars.

Just now noticed about something wrong in the Qualifying Procedure post, unless your planning to travel back in time for the race then qualifying the week after it won't really work.

so here it is- in the F1 when they raced the old nurburgring layout, stirling moss broke the lap record 36 times in a race which lasted 39 laps, not sure which year it was, but there you go

Something I have noticed. Ianmr needs to finish 3rd or higher to beat Bullet/Senna/Dario on our team (providing Dario wins SP1) yet he is in a class with only 4 teams? The chances are definitely in his favor if Dario is in a class against 16 teams or whatever it is.

If Dario was in SP1 Cup and Ian in SP1 then of course Dario would have the upper hand. I am just making the point and curious as to how this is fair going into the last race when clearly Ian has a huge advantage over him. It doesn't seem fair.

I understand this is not Ian's fault, nor Darios. The guys pick what they wanna use to race and whatever. How can we combat this so it's a 50/50 stake in chances for success (on the day). I think the fairest thing to do would be having equal teams in each class. It is a championship after all and with a system like the one now, one only has to be cute about class and car choices to give themselves an advantage. Let's even forget Dario and Ian for a second and pick any two drivers. People is SP1 Cup have way more chance of success than SP1 and even more so than SP3.

I can definitely see where you're coming from, but I would imagine it would be unfair to change anything besides the limitations on entries. Maybe next year some sort of weighted scoring system can be inputted for allowing different numbers of entries per class.

VLN uses the following formular:

Code:

          {cars in class} + 0,5 - {rank in class}
Points = ----------------------------------------- * 10
                      {cars in class}


That means with just 4 starters in class, the class winner will get 8,75 points. With more starters in class the winner points get closer to 10.

Cup only having 4 cars is from experience could potentially be a tad dull anyway. In my eyes, the more cars the better, with them being so close time wise on track then it could potentially be the best class to watch. If you had 6 teams all within a second of each other that'd be truly awesome to watch.
It has been given the same amount of of cars (as a whole 'class') as one car could potentially be allowed in proper SP1.
Needs a few more imo, for the sake of good racing and good viewing

As said, it is not the fault of Ian nor Dario for choosing their classes. Points have been the same throughout the season and therefore would not be fair to change the way things are done at the last race simply due to someone who wants to race in a larger field giving more of a challenge.

If the championship is important and feels that SP1cup has the advantage, then there is nothing to stop Dario switching to SP1cup. I wouldn't have thought this would be needed though, as sign-ups have been open for only 12 hours, and with a couple of weeks left to join, there will still be plenty more people to sign up.

Is SP1cup an extension of SP1, I'll need to clarify this...
