Re: Winter Heat Rules and Discussion
Tsukuba was the slugfest that keep the crowd coming back to fill the grandstands every race. Congrats to Wingnut396 for his first TORA win.
Rumor has it that he may become a regular in the next season of the TCC.

Flyin Mikey J wrote:I have a feeling that if I added up all the race points for the week, the point leader would be new to league racer TA JKGrizzle, an old Hotlap Challenge buddy of mine that I managed to drag into the craziness that we all know and love.
BTW, he has stated that he will be joining us here at TORA soon.
Other than you, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who has ran all the races. Although I have to say, even coming top 3 in these races is more satisfying than winning in a public lobby with noobs.
Also, I need to build a chump car or two. Not sure if I'll be home for new year's eve, but that's the plan as of right now.

Re: Winter Heat Rules and Discussion
There are cars that start well above 100 PI that have potential to drop down. Drivetrain conversions, turbo glitches, bling wheels, and downforce all take the PI down considerably at that level.
Re: Winter Heat Rules and Discussion
I was up late last night throwing stuff together with lack if sleep so I want all there but I ended up with a GNX rusted N faded with a for sale sign on it and painted numbers... So I'll be doing that lol but what times are good with the overweight cars?

Re: Winter Heat Rules and Discussion
I honestly can't remember. I am thinking 1:20s. I don't even know which class I am running yet, and won't until race time, as I will run whichever class most needs another car in it. But if there is a class with zero cars, I won't run it, as one car in a class would be counterproductive.
Re: Winter Heat Rules and Discussion
1:20s for the overweight class? I think I need to recheck my GNX cuz hitting low 1:01s lol

Re: Winter Heat Rules and Discussion
Remember: Tomorrow's ChumpCar 100 is one hour earlier. 8PM GMT, 3PM EST, 12Noon PST
I have no idea just how long this race will take, but my guess is slightly less than 2 hours.

ChumpCar 100 Laps of Road Atlanta Club
Group 1: Overweight. >3300 lbs. 550 PI A Class. No Aero
Car list: Buick Regal GNX, 1996 Chevrolet Impala, 1992 Camaro, 2002 Camaro, 2002 Trans Am, 1995 BMW M5, Dodge Ram, GMC Syclone, Dodge Stealth, 1994 Nissan Fairlady Z, 1992 Toyota Supra
Group 2: Underpowered. <200 HP. 400 PI C Class. No Aero
Car List: DeLorean, Pinto, 1978 Mustang II King Cobra, Dodge Shelby Omni, 2003 Focus, Honda CRX, Del Sol, 2000 Prelude, Hyundai Tuscani, 1994 Mazda MX5 Miata, Nissan 240 SX, 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse, VW Rabbit, Toyota MR-S, Sprinter Trueno
Group 3: Crapwagons. 100 PI Unlimited build. Aero OK, drivetrain swaps OK
Format: 100 Laps, split into two 50 lap segments.
I will set the end race timer to 2:30. After the race leader has passed the line at the end of the first 50 laps, everyone finish the lap that they are on then park in the T1 runoff area. After the last car has finished his lap, I will pause and take lap totals of everyone for the first segment. Race 2 will start via lobby points, with the leader on pole for race 2. Race will finish the same way as race 1, as everyone finishes the lap that they are on after the winner crosses the line on lap 50. Then the laps will be totalled for the two halves, and that will determine the official finish, with who finished higher in race 2 as the tie breaker.

If you're running 1:03's, I might actually have a chance in the heavy weights. I was running 1:02.3's in my supra. Might be able to crack 1:01's with a better driver. I already have a crx for the underpowered class...but based on past experience, the crx wont be competitive.

Re: Winter Heat Rules and Discussion
Sorry Red Dirt, the race was today. As for Crapwagon times, I think we hit 1:21s on our very best laps. 1:22s were common.
