2013 V8 Supercars

Well a new era for the much loved Aussie V8 Supercars with Nissan and Merc joining the huge Ford V Holden battle.

Some big changes in the driver line ups this season. Greg Murphy doesnt have a Holden to fill but I think he could end up at 88 or HRT for the enduros. Shane Van Gisbergen shocked the V8 paddock with his retirement from V8s at the age of 23, Who will fill his seat at SBR? Will Casey Stoner get a ride? (likely to be in the Development series with 888)

Could this be one of the last seasons we see some of the old Guard of Lowndes,Tander, Winterbottom, Bright, Ingall, Courtney, Johnston & the Kelly Bros???

888, Ford Performance Racing, HRT, Kelly Racing and Brad Jones Racing have all got there new cars built, with Stone Brothers Racing (SBR) looking set to unveil their Merc soon.
The 2012 cars will be used in the Development Series.

On the track side of things Pukekohe is returning with a new track layout. Hamilton had its last race last year, but filling the void is the new F1 track in Texas. The Bathurst 1000 will be on the 13th of Oct.

Another change for this season is 888's switch from Vodaphone backing to Red Bull and FPR are said to have Pepsi on board.

Pepsi from Murph to FPR? I'd say that is an Upgrade

I really hope to see murph in a top drive at Bathurst. That would be special.

He'll be talking to 888 and HRT thats for sure.

greg murphy is not a full time driver as said (thank god for that, hate him with a passion) so he'll only be in the enduros, so he can ruin the ford boys races in that... sorry nicky, but i take your comment as an offense he can race for HRT, just not 888 hehe

Russle Ingal is in his LAST year as a full time driver, whether he races eduros next year or not, it's unknown at this stage, but the 48 year old has put in a decent effort!!

the one i cant understand is Gizz! go from the number 1/2 team (and one of the most successful) in the whole feild, then retires, does drifting in the off season (did pretty well with that), and the join possible the lowest placing team in the feild? unless he's going t go brock on their asses, i dunno...
worse part is, he's gone from the blue ring (ford) to the red helmet, or devil (holden), that's like being russian in WW2, and half way through deciding to help the germans...

I can see 100% what SVG is up to. Tekno has 888 built cars. Webb is quick so they can both push the car up front. Also lets not forget that Lowndes is only going to be there a few more seasons and If SVG is quick in a 888 built car he could be in a championship winning postion by the time hes in his mid to late 20s.

Come on man. Murph's a legend. Whether you like it or not, he's been right up there towards the end of the past three or four Bathursts in a car that's just not meant to be up there. I remember a few years back, he was in that GRM car, gaining on the leader right till the very end. He's definitely going to be top of the wishlist when it comes to enduro drivers.

Keep in mind that he'll be doing Kiwi Supertourers, so he'll still be sharp when it comes to the enduros.

i know, i'm just kidding mate, it's a ford holden thing, he's a great driver, no denying it, but holden supporters dont like majority of ford drivers and ford supporters don't like majority of holden driver. and yes i'm going to use this, bathurst 2005, dad n i hated his guts that and 2006 season for taking out ambrose, out hero in his last ever bathurst 1000, but you are correct, a fantastic driver, it's just a rivalry thing, nothing personal or serious
