Since we are already talking about it, let the thread begin!

For one, if CRA Adder and I aren't in Prototypes in Lobby A this time around, I will be very upset. Best racing I've ever had on TORA to date. Cheers

FYI, the SRT Motorsports Viper will be back.

Post by Adder 020 Mon 11 Mar 2013 - 18:29

I will race LMP on Le Mans.
I am not sure if team 2 is making lobby A again.
The CRA teams are already preparing for this....
Line ups will be set and in a few weeks the testing and tuning can begin.

I know that the XPLR teams are also in need of drivers and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to do the majority of stints again as 10 hours out of 12 was hard enough Smile

It's tempting, but I'm sure people wouldn't be happy with me doing 20 hours and bringing all the dealays from each lobby with me xD

Post by ART Carrera Wed 13 Mar 2013 - 17:38

I was really happy with the performance of the Ferrari at Sebring! Had amazing battles with all the other competitors! Was extremely happy with the straight line speed of the ferrari. Not as fast as the Vette or GT but it gave a me a little boost to get away when other cars were stalking my rear bumper :] Le Mans shall be a good one! Just hoping my team doesn't get destroyed again by lagging out Mad Oh and driving for 8 hours and 6 hours straight, I've started a close relationship with the my Ferrari, her name is Becky lol!

If I don't end up on a team, I do not care, I'll go privateer... I didn't tape a bike inner tube to a milk jug for a nice vase.. I'll have to work out an eating and drinking system but other than that, I could use some tuning tips lol

I thought we were pretty much stuck with whatever car we raced at Sebring. I would guess some teams compromised Sebring to get the car they wanted for LeMans.

Only if you want to compete in the TEC all year for points. If you dont care for points you can change cars n teams as many times as you want.

We are in discussions with a couple of other drivers for the 24hr. We learned some lessons during Sebring and have established that the way the foot pedals are mounted causes some level of discomfort which will limit the amount of time a driver can remain in the car.

Doodleco is hopefully going to perform much better next time as we focus on training our drivers to pass slower cars safely and efficiently. We will not make the same mistake at Le Mans as we did at Sebring... again we offer apologies to the Viper that we hit. We owe you a stiff drink! Cheers

I am just curious as to how well I'm going to stack up to the rest of the field as a privateer. I've never been in a race like this, but I anticipate that the qualifying grid is going to be a little shuffled compared to the overall results.

TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion Empty Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion

Post by HCR Motorhead Tue 19 Mar 2013 - 15:12

I'd like some clarification on lapping someone in the same class. I'm sure Le Mans will be easier as it's longer, etc, however on Sebring I did lap some cars that had damage or different pace or strategy in same class and can't remember who it was but I had to waste 3/4 of a lap to fight past it. I shouldn't have to do that surely? Do blue flag rules apply for lapping cars of the same category?

I wondered this also, as I had to lap a couple of people in my stints, who didn't hold me up as such, but they didn't move over either..

be nice to get some clarification on it.

The protocol for getting overtaken is run your line. It is up to the faster car to get around you safely and cleanly.

I would say it was common courtesy to let the faster car behind you past, especially if you have damage. However, this isn't a sprint race so even that person you are lapping could be racing you at the end of 12 Hours and that one lap could make all the difference.

If your car is damaged, then let them by. If your car is fine, but you are much slower than the guy lapping you, let them by. If you are on a different stategy, then race them.

That is what I think for endurance racing.
